Father Rooster is the premier beachfront bar & restaurant on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The location and scenery combined with top quality (yet very simple) food and our famous frozen drinks makes Father Rooster a must see on your next visit to Costa Rica. This is the place where the locals and tourists sit side by side sipping cocktails, eating fresh Mahi-mahi and Tuna and watching the sunset over the Pacific. This is the place where Hemmingway would have hung his hat and the place that Buffet would write songs about. Its the place that you have been looking for all of your life... Come on in, and enjoy!

Wonderful location, good ingredients, but too greasy

It would be three star except for the location. Wait staff good, fish very fresh, but what dragged it down was that everything fried had to much grease. Shrimp Kabobs were very good, and healthy. Platinos a little greasy. If it were not for the location I would not return. We will, but avoid... read more

The food was pretty good, service not bad... But the view was awesome! If your in this area it's worth a stop, had dinner and drinks, reasonably priced.

The location of this restaurant is just wonderful...a few steps from the beach. The food was great and service was too. We had a large group of 18 including 5 kids. The kids (ages 6-10) finished eating first and were able to entertain themselves while the adults continued having a leisurely meal. There we hammocks, swings, lounge chairs all in... More

Great place to go if you're staying at Los Almendros like we did. Right on the beach. Decent menu. Recommend the fish tacos and a cold Imperial!

We went here to watch the sunset and have a few drinks. The place is lovely, right on the beach. Food was ok, if a bit overpriced. However, this is understandable due to the location of the place as well. We recommend :)

To us, this is the perfect spot to catch a drink before dinner and maybe watch the sunset. It is a great place for families, couples, or friends. While it may be a little overpriced, it compensates with the nice beach vibe, comfy chairs and all around good atmosphere

Best Margarita I have ever had, combined with excellent service and beachfront views. Luis and his staff do a fantastic job.

We stayed within walking distance and ate here often. The food was always excellent and the service outstanding! The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They were wonderful! We tried many of the menu options and every one was delicious! The sunsets are beautiful. Don't forget to try the margaritas!
