I was introduced to Caico's trattoria (in fact a very good restaurant) by a colleague who I always thanks for this. I had the opportunity to see with my own eyes the swordfish brought by the fisherman to the kitchen and to ask for "a plate of that". Whatever you could choose from the menu shall surprise you for its... More

Glad we followed up - and found - this recommendation from our guidebook: it was lovely. Antipasto rustica to start. A generous plateful which we shared and included three different cheeses, two meats, caponata, olives, sun dried tomatoes and artichokes - yum. Ravioli stuffed with lobster in a shrimp sauce totally wonderful. Including beer and water it came in at... More

Sitting down at our table, we could tell from the expressions of the other guests, that something was wrong. They looked irritated, and we soon realized that it was because of the service. Everybody was waiting for something, appetizer, wine, the check or something else. Although we realized this was going to take time, we decided to stay because we... More

Good food, fair prices, plenty of choice. Try the pasta with swordfish or any other fish dish - it's excellent (as are the desserts).

This place was suggested to us by the receptionist of our hotel and we went there for a nice dinner, since it was my dad's birthday that day. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed. We had to wait considerably longer than normal before someone came to take our order and food was ok. Definitely not bad, but also not anything... More

We had great antipasti (plate of cheese, caponata & sausage) but were disapointed with the wine (average despite the great selection...) & our main courses. Meat had obviously been frozen and de-frozen & the contornis were not fresh either. Having said that, it seems the best option in San Leone!

Although the staff was nice and they were trying to serve guests well we were disappointed of mussel soup which had strong ammonia taste and small portion of average tortellini (although they were described as delicious stuffed maccaroni) which werent seasoned enough. Caponata had funny stale taste, not refreshing at all. We were seating at the table in the first... More

Fairly standard Italian fare. Fresh and good quality but our spaghetti vongole was much too salty. Sicilian cassata for dessert was excellent. It was very quiet when we were there (8:30 Thursday) and lacked atmosphere.

It was a relatively quiet night and we had the trio of smoked fish which was reportedly good and the limoncello prawns which were ok but nothing special. My first choice fish main course was not available. Had fried mixed seafood which was average. The swordfish pasta was good. Staff were personable. Overall the food was good but far from... More
