Nice lunch in Bar-sur-Loup

On a sunny and hot day we were happy to find this restaurant with a nice garden. Staff was efficient and friendly, and the lunch menu at 20.50 Euro included a refreshing amuse bouche, a Cesar's salade and cooked salmon, everything fresh and tasty, although it could have been a bit more spicy. We ate here with friends in July, lovely setting, friendly staff, great food and even a children's menu at 12 euros. We would have eaten here again, but ran out of time.

We popped in here the other day for lunch after a break of some months and were not disappointed. Although the price of lunchtime menu offer has increased by 2€, it is still good value for money and includes a main course plus starter or dessert selected from the main menu, as well as a glass of wine and portion... My husband and I dined here one Saturday evening. The food was excellent and the value for money, very good. We had starter, main course, cheese course (interesting, but unless your a real cheese lover, give it a miss) and dessert all for 38€ each. Aperitifs and wine are a little on the pricey side though and the total bill... More

Still a beautiful place, however not as good anymore as we have experienced in the past! Nor the staff nor the kitchen was up to the job!

Stopped on impulse with family of 6 as looked nice and easy parking available on opposite side of the road. Inside the restaurant is quite an impressive renovated 17th century building, quite formal in appearance but with large and comfortable seating. Staff we're very accommodating and friendly and appreciated our attempts at ordering in French but we're able to converse... More

Being a coach group of around 35 people, we were a little apprehensive of having lunch in what seemed to be a very remote area. However, the location was very pleasant with superb views over the valley beyond. We were seated outside, fortunately under awnings as it was a hot day, and had a wonderful leisurely 4-course meal. Everybody complimented... More

We had our 25th wedding anniversary in the Jarrerie's function room. 55 adults and 10 children, dance floor and big band all easily accommodated. The function room is very atmospheric, and was lovely and warm in February with 2 open fires to bolster up the central heating. The food was excellent (we had chosen various menu's beforehand according to the... More

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant even though it was the only restaurant open on the Monday night in this town. We had the set menu of the day for €19.50 and enjoyed a main and desserts, plus a glass of local rose wine. I had the risotto with Parmesan and mussels and it was delicious. Not too... More

We used to go to La Jarrerie a few years ago.We went again last week for dinner and were amazed by the kindness of the waiter and the refinement of the cuisine. The food was delicious ( tiger prawns or "piece de boeuf" as plat de jour) and incredible profiterolles and mousse á l'orange for dessert. We are from Canada and... More
