We ate here while on a short stay in Barra. The restaurant has 2 evening 'sittings' - one at 6pm and one at 7.30pm as well as food throughout the day. It offers a mix of Indian and Italian dishes, which, although it may sound strange, works well. The meals are excellent, freshly cooked and hot. The scallop pakoras and... More

A small restaurant that offers a good choice of Italian and Indian food. There are two sittings at 7 and 9pm. Booking is essential. The restaurant has an attractive interior, friendly helpful staff and excellent food. Well worth a visit when you are on the island. Has a selection of local beers to accompany the food.Takes payment by cash or... More

Had the place recommended by a friend, accordingly booked 3 nights. We were not disappointed. We had a mixture of Indian & Italian food, all really excellent. The Cranachan cheesecake was mouthwatering.Found the staff to be really friendly & helpful, i really fancied the Smoked Salmon but hate spagetti, the following night they made it with penne pasta ( having gone to... A great suprise to find a curry house / Italian on Barra. And its a great place to eat. Good wine list as well. Dont eat in the hotels, eat here! But book - we had to eat outside the first night and (inevitably) it was not a rain-free experience.

The food here is superb and the service is so helpful. We went for the Indian food on the nights we ate here and each meal was stunningly good. If I was served this quality of food in any large city I would be impressed, to find it on a small island was a real delight. Worth booking ahead if... More

My wife and I ate at this restaurant twice last week. Despite not having booked in advance, the staff very kindly squeezed us in by sharing a table with other holidaymakers, which was great. The food was as good as any Indian restaurant in Glasgow with the scallop pakora an excellent choice. The locally reared lamb in my Dopiaza was... More

Four of us ate here on our 3 day trip to Barra. The food and service was excellent and we were glad we had booked as all tables were occupied. 3 of us ate Indian food and one had lasagne. Everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. Would recommend a visit but make sure you book!

We had such a lovely lunch here – salad for the adult, toastie for the wee one – that we returned the following evening for dinner. Chicken Korma... outstanding. And the chocolate fudge cake? Oh, my my my. Save room.

We persevered after initial off putting encounter which was by no means unique as we witnessed other potential customers getting the same off hand unwelcoming advice that while a cafe by day at this time of night( this was 5.30 pm) it was a " restaurant" . Further questioning leads to the rather interesting explanation that the "restaurant" has two... More
