Food and service is quite good but I have had better. Servings are small and overall much too expensive. Drop the prices and stop catering to the Rolls Royce/Ferrari set and it would improve. There are better options around Mundaring for a good meal. Having said all that it still stands as the "special" place for meal out.

This restaurant is so good I do not feel that I can write a review that could do it justice. For 30 years The Loose Box has been on my list of places to visit, I wish we had made it sooner because then we could and would have repeated the experience, alas, from the end of July there will... More

What a magic place. Great setting in Mundaring, a little out of perth. The food and service are exceptional. What a shame it is closing the doors.

This restaurant is well out of the city but can be reached by bus. The cuisine is French and quite outstanding. It is not cheap, but is worth every cent. Be sure to take a look around the kitchen and gardens.

We went there for a friends birthday and although it is quite expensive the food is out of this world and next time we go we will stay in one of the Chalets as it is quite a drive home

Went there to celebrate a special birthday because friends had recommended it, but the experience was not as expected or as recommended. The dish I ordered was loaded with salt and not worth the money, but the sweets were delicious. The place is over-rated.

The grounds are fantastic and the relaxed, natural tranquility of the restaurant begins to develop during the very drive to the property. The food is a hearty traditional French and though I'd have liked to see some modern innovation, the simplicity of the meals combined with the excellent palet (not to mention the beautifully aromatic matched wines) made for an... Absolutely brilliant French food by a Michelin rated chef..but booking essential well in advance..it's up in the hills so not easy to reach but well worth it once in a blue moo...not more often, as the costs are pretty steep

Its taken us quite a few years to finally visit this eatery with such a great reputation so we were keen to say the least. Overall the food was a good standard. Our main criticism was that if you werent a huge sea food or snail fan the only option to change was a vegetarian option. For 160 bucks a... More

I heard with great dismay that the Loose Box is closing. Alain Fabregues is deservedly retiring but it spells the end to a Perth Icon. Alain is an adopted Perth treasure. If you can get a table before he goes do it. Just wonderful french cuisine. I wont go into depth on the menu etc just know that I have... More
