We came across this pub by accident last Sunday when returning from a camping trip. A group of 19 of us, we sat in the garden which has play equipment for the children and enjoyed a lazy afternoon. Good beer and a great choice of food. We all ordered different things and everyone enjoyed their meals. Staff made us feel... More

I visited the Chequers Inn last Friday to celebrate my birthday, we took my elderly parents with us. The Chequers has been totally transformed since I was last here. Under the new Management of the lovely Tracey and Martin, the whole place has been redecorated. The food was delicious, and the service was very welcoming. There was a roaring log... More

I belong to a local volunteer group and it was decided that we would have our Christmas dinner at the Chequers. There were quite a lot if us and we were given an upstairs room, there was a Pub Quiz in the main bar and it was packed. The meal was really good and the service excellent. You could not... More

We were made to feel very welcome after a muddy walk with a very muddy dog. They found a bowl of water for the dog and some biscuits. Service very nice and the roast turkey we both had was excellent. Would recommend this to walkers or families alike, fab venue.

My hubby and I visited the Chequers yesterday whilst out on a jaunt around Kent. We were impressed on all accounts! The bar area was welcoming, however we chose to eat outside in the lovely garden next to the river. Both food and drink are ordered at the bar, and the menu was varied and reasonaby priced. I went for... More

Very friendly, surprisingly good ie. much better than average food for a pub, with a beautiful garden for sunny days by the river. This place looks a bit worn out form the street but a lick of paint was the only thing we could find wrong with the place!

We stopped here on our way home from a family weekend away. There were 7 adults and 4 kids under 5 in our group. We squeezed our way through to the seating area where the tables were dirty and all sat down. After about 15 mins a waitress came over to tell us that they were stopping serving food in... More

Dropped in one evening for a quick drink and ended up eating and staying til the end. Great service, food was excellent and staff very attentive and friendly. It was quiet when we were there but don't know why. Would recommend this pub to anyone, the only downside was there was no phone signal ! Hardly their fault.

Absolutely incredible service. Owners were unbelievably helpful and accommodating. Service was definitely above and beyond what I would expect to receive anywhere. Restaurant was kept open late for us and the food was everything you could hope for, fresh, original and definitely cooked by someone with a love for good food.

I took my elderly relatives to The Chequers for sunday lunch. The food was nice but overpriced for sunday lunch,The restaurant was empty and we all thought it might be because it is rather expensive. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. One can't help but feel the pub could be so much fuller with revised 'sunday lunch deals' (2 courses for £12.95)We...
