I still don't understand why most people swear by this restaurant! first of all the food was heavy (creme fraiche with EVERY course including desert, olive oil in almost all courses) and pretty simple (baked potato with cream and truffle for instance). Truffel carpaccio.....made of local picked truffels..amazing. Every year we have to visit Bruno and his crew...and they never let us down. The service, thehe food and the atmosphere is fantastic! Allready looking forward for our next visit!

There are people who enjoy this kind of restaurant, but for me it is way over the top. To many truffles, too much cream and brandy, followed by a truely magnificent bill. I live not far away but one meal chez Bruno was one too much for me.

We had an amazing truffle lunch yesterday at Provence's most famous truffle restaurant, Chez Bruno in Lorgues. Pictured here is bacon, foie gras and whole summer truffle (which had been frozen) inside a popover with a truffle bordelaise sauce. Must try to make at home!

Haven't been back to Chez Bruno for at least 6 years and although this time I didn't get to spend the night there at their auberge, I did manage to bring some friends for dinner.
