Good beach food

We had several meals here, nothing plush about it, but the fish was well cooked and fresh and the prices very reasonable. Its a busy place on Thursday evenings, we went elsewhere further down the beach and regretted it.

Recommend Thursday evenings for the food is complimented by live music, raffles, a bonfire, and a show starting at 8:30pm. The Menu is basic yet fresh and delicious. Service was "island time" with gracious smiles. If you're looking to enjoy the sunset - plan to arrive around 6:00pm and tables will be plentiful. By 7:30 -- plan to have a... More

"The Strip" was highly recommended as was this particular restaurant so we decided to check it out. Overall the food and service really were about what one would expect at a local family owned beach front property. Food: finding something like curry conch on the menu was a hopeful surprise and was actually quite good as was the lobster dinner.... More

Yes, it used to be better. Yes, it can get crowded. Yes, the food is just okay. BUT it's a must see. Start on the opposite side of the strip, visiting each bar along the way, and work your way down to Shiggidy Shack (Thursday nights they have a bonfire on the beach). It's just the thing to do, and... More

Trip Adviser rating for food was so-so, but we thought our meal was EXCELLENT! One of the best meals we experienced on the island. VERY casual (picnic tables on the beach) but lent well for the Island experience. Stayed for the Fire Dancer and music and dancing later - great Island entertainment. DON'T order a pitcher of drinks - that... More

A bunch of us went to dinner one night at the Shiggidy Shack. We had a great time, drinking and eating in a very relaxed atmosphere. The only downside was that they had a limited supply of the local lobsters, and not everyone was able to have even a small lobster.

Food was not very good, but the drinks and the bar were good, especially the pina colada. At night, the noise carried to the hotel next door which was irritating when trying to sleep with the sliding glass door open to enjoy the breeze.

Something has changed. Not nearly what the place used to be. Still ok and worth a visit. Everyone seems to try but the outcome is off from the past.

We've been coming to St. Kitts for 10 years, and the Shiggidy Shack was always a highlight. This time, not so much. Empty much of the time. Drinks vary greatly depending on the bartender....not unusual for St. Kitts, but this is the difference between a rum punch that tasted like straight Hawaiian punch from the grocery store to a true...
