No fuss Caribbean dining on picnic tables on the beach

What's the fuss? Cathy's is pretty simple. You come casual and you allow for island time waits. You grab a picnic table on the beach and you order a cold Caribe and dig your feet into the sand. The menu lists just a few items like fish (steamed or grilled), pork (jerk or chops), or lobster... read more

Very casual family style eating . Carribean lobster and barbecue were good but not worth the wait. Limited menu so we're still not sure why food takes so long. Apparently we were lucky that order to table took only 1 1/2 hours others waited longer. On a positive note, the rum punches and social atmosphere with other diners made the... More

We loved our previous meal here a few years ago. This year we came away disappointed. Service is not something St. Kitts is known for but the service here was abysmal. Despite the waiting, the meal was pretty good. The lobster dinner was marvelous. Red snapper dish was disappointing. I would not recommend their "famous" rum punch. We love eating... More

This was our first trip to St. Kitts and Cathy's was recommended several times. Went for dinner and watched the sunset over the water, which was beautiful of course. But the whole restaurant experience was disappointing. Service was horrible. We waited over an hour for our food. All three of us got BBQ. The others liked theirs but my chicken... More

My husband and I just returned from an 11 night stay in St. Kitts, and being within close distance of The Strip, we tried Cathy's twice, once for lunch and on our final night for dinner. While I do think "The Strip" in general was very highly overrated, it is not a bad place to go if you are looking... More

Cathy's is a great place for food on the beach. You can sit on tables right on the beach. Went there for dinner and had fresh snapper and shrimp. The food was good, but, the atmosphere of beach side dinning by the Caribbean cannot be beat.

True Island dining - casual, on the beach, and excellent homemade island fare. Usually requires reservations, but wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night. Wonderful panoramic views.

We decided to visit Cathy's after several people at our hotel raved about it. I had read several reviews online about the slow service so was prepared for a wait. We arrived around 6:30 as we were told to go when they first opened or it is too hard to get a table. The restaurant was about half full. Got... More

Cathy's used to be a little known gem on the beach. Really great local food, at a good price, served by friendly people. Our visit this year was a huge disappointment. After a long flight we were really hungry and tired. We were treated poorly by the apparently exhausted guys on duty who waved us to a picnic table and... More

Ate there twice. Fish and lobster were both good. However, in addition to the main dish, I swear we got an additional plate of various vegetables that was absolutely wonderful! I love the plantains. All of it was cooked really well. I'm no vegetarian but both my husband and I agreed we'd be very happy to go back and just... More
