Great local food and very nice waiters. Be sure to make a reservation when you travel with a group, because the rooms fill up quick!. Try the impala shank; delicious!

We visit Kruger National Park every year. We always take one day to drive to Sabie to eat lunch at this restaurant. The menu is always different with lots of delicious African choices. The potjies are outstanding. My recommendation is the kudu potjie. But we have enjoyed all the different fillets and the crocodile salad. The wine choices are very... More

Spent a wonderful evening in cold Sabie with a roaring fire, attentive staff and the best food ever. Menu for all tastes from the normal to exotic. Manager was a delight to talk to full of interesting info and stories. You will be seeing us again

Very pleasant restaurant. Good price-quality ratio. One of the best meals we had during our holiday in South-Africa.

We had locally caught trout, which was excellently cooked and tasted well. Good service, attentive staff.

My wife and I have eaten two days after another and we very appreciated the meals we had. The first time we have eaten, the bill was about 490 rand and we gave 3 bills of 200 (600) and waited for the waitress return money so we could determine the tip. Unfortiunately the waitress did not return so we had... More

Didn't get to try the delicious sounding classics as we were in for light lunch. Prices, though were high considering that venison is currently cheaper than beef on the market. Prégo disappointing - served on soft roll so soggy at the bottom. Fillet of smoked trout served with a salad and fruit - should of been described as a fruit... More

Whilst I appreciate fair constructive criticism I also feel compelled to respond to unfair criticism. Without giving you a culinary lesson, venison prices are on par with beef (not cheaper) however the yield on venison once cooked is half compared to beef due to the amount of cooking time required to get venison tender. We also use a lot of... More

One of the issues encountered in Sabie was the sketchy wifi service. At the wild fig tree however as soon as we were seated and pulled out our ipads, we were given the password with the menu. The savoury muffins were excellent

We had a great dinner on the deck at this casual, authentic South African restaurant. Two of us in our group of four took advantage of the evening's special, Warthog Potjie, a traditional stew cooked and served in a cast iron pot. Delicious! Lots of other choices that are sure to please, as are the very affordable prices.

Wild Fig offers a unique variety of traditional South African food done with flair. A different eating experience from the average restaurants throughout South Africa. It also caters for the less sophisticated pallette lòoking for a pizza or a burger. Something for everyone.
