Not what we were looking for.... restaurant had a few good reviews but nah... did not hit the spot at all. Pasta sauce did not taste fresh at all and it was completely overcooked. This is a crime in Italy, where pasta should be always made "al dente". As soon as you put the fork on the pasta, it would... More

So conveniently located next to Ostia Antica. We loved this place and the food was excellent. Our only issue was the very slow service. We were the only customer in the entire restaurant. The waitress didn't get our order correctly and missed my entree order entirely. They thought my husband and I were sharing. Thought that was strange. Anyway after... More

In the week I spent in Ostia, this was the only restaurant I visited twice. Being a fussy eater...that should tell you something! As this is a restaurant and not some lunchtime cafe bar...it is probably best appreciated on an evening. Excellent food and customer service that could not be faulted. Some menus in English....just ask!

We're not sorry we stopped here and you can't beat the location for a place to take a load off before or after a long walk through the ruins. The pricing was reasonable and it was interesting to see the staff dressed as gladiators and the menu on a scroll. I had the chicken piccata and rigatoni in meat sauce... More

Just outside a side road leading to Ostia, this restaurant makes you feel cosy. Seems run by family members it's very good. We tried some meat, cooked perfect in an indoor oven just infront of us. Amazing. Also good value for money. Highly recommended

We were a bit hesitant to go in as it was by the entrance of Ostia Antica. However we were hungry (the one thing that makes you fall victim to a tourist trap). We entered just before noon and it looked like they were just opening up; there wasn't really any one around to greet us so we weren't even... More

Having arrived in Ostia at lunchtime on New Year's Eve we were relieved to find somewhere near the ruins at all, let alone open. Fortunately this place was both. We only had pasta, which was tasty and fresh. The decor is eccentric, but amusing. Prices are reasonable-we paid about10 Euros for the pasta dishes we chose.

After an enjoyable morning walking round Ostia Antica this place is on the way back to the station. It looks a bit quirky but the hospitality and home cooked food are great. We did lunch which I'm pretty sure is a fixed menu only but plenty of choice at a good price. I was hungry after 3 hours walking and... More

Imagine stepping back in time; passing through an iron gate to a forgotten world where Roman Senators indulged in fine dining while local gladiators spent their leisure hours impressing star-struck maidens over glasses of cool aromatic wine. Well, you won’t find it here! What you will find is a modern restaurant adorned with plastic ‘relics’ and unauthentic plaster casts. I’m... More

Found this place on the way to the ruins, they should have been closed, but served us a lovely meal. Nice, cool outdoor area with lots of statues, grapevines, and a fountain. Very good food with very friendly service for a reasonable price.
