great food with very loud music

I knew the place from Istanbul so I was not suprised with the quality of the food. The protions are big. I mean very big. But the live traditional music was very disturbing. We were a large group in another room (the music and dancing was in the main room) and still it was too loud. Still there... read more

It is hard to find room so booking is must. The ambiance and the food presentation and taste is excellent. This was our first time trying Suryani food and even though it looks similar to other Turkish mezes the food tasted completely different. In order to sample the different appetizers the meze platter is a must.

Just came back from my visit to Mardin. We had read so many excellent evaluations about this restaurant , presented as a must to go , so we booked a table and had dinner there. The decoration of the place and the place itself is nice. I can not though say the same about the food and the service. The... More

It was our last night "on the road" before spending some time in Istanbul. It was also my birthday and reservations had been made for a special evening!. First we had a beautiful table by the window and had it not been cloudy we could have seen quite a distance. We shared a delicious Mezze and then I ordered lamb... More

We reserved our table weeks ago thru an agency. Wwnt there on time. It was crowded. No one to greet us at the entrance but we strolled further to find a waiter and ask for our table. They dis not even had our reservation:(. I worked with the agency many times before and for this one, they called me and... More

The food was good, but the menu is designed to share so I wouldn't recommend this place if you're on your own. And as a single woman I was made to feel very conspicuous - esp when I ordered a cup of wine! I know it's not normal that people eat alone in Turkey, let alone female women, but a... More

Beautifully cooked and presented Middle Eastern food, charmingly served on a rooftop terrace, overlooking the Mespotamian plain. We wanted to try some of the specialities of the region, and this restaurant has an excellent choice of dishes. Our starters was a shared platter of meze dips with flat bread, all utterly delicious. The mouth-watering saddle of lamb was served stuffed... More

First you taste small regional specialities cooked very elegantly. Then you receive the main dish which is meat and rice, again very tasteful. And finally a turkish dessert. All these fixed menu will cost you 60 turkish livres (without beverages ) which is around 20 euros. Don't leave mardin without experiencing this traditional food festival.

Perfect scenery, good atmosphere, nice service but average food for too much money. There are other locations in town to taste the better samples of the unique cuisine of Mardin for convenient prices. Same for the wine - this is not the place the taste the best samples of the Syrian Orthodox winery.
