Reserved a table but was it ready????

We reserved our table weeks ago thru an agency. Wwnt there on time. It was crowded. No one to greet us at the entrance but we strolled further to find a waiter and ask for our table. They dis not even had our reservation:(. I worked with the agency many times before and for this one, they called me... read more

The food was good, but the menu is designed to share so I wouldn't recommend this place if you're on your own. And as a single woman I was made to feel very conspicuous - esp when I ordered a cup of wine! I know it's not normal that people eat alone in Turkey, let alone female women, but a... More

Beautifully cooked and presented Middle Eastern food, charmingly served on a rooftop terrace, overlooking the Mespotamian plain. We wanted to try some of the specialities of the region, and this restaurant has an excellent choice of dishes. Our starters was a shared platter of meze dips with flat bread, all utterly delicious. The mouth-watering saddle of lamb was served stuffed... More

First you taste small regional specialities cooked very elegantly. Then you receive the main dish which is meat and rice, again very tasteful. And finally a turkish dessert. All these fixed menu will cost you 60 turkish livres (without beverages ) which is around 20 euros. Don't leave mardin without experiencing this traditional food festival.

Perfect scenery, good atmosphere, nice service but average food for too much money. There are other locations in town to taste the better samples of the unique cuisine of Mardin for convenient prices. Same for the wine - this is not the place the taste the best samples of the Syrian Orthodox winery.

Established by a woman entrepreneur, this place has been a promoter of regional cuisine in Istanbul. Big plate of starters served in spoons serves the eye as well as the palate. Yogurt with spices, olive oil, dish made of sun-dried tomato were my favorites. Icli kofte (boiled) is the best I ever had at a restaurant. Harire is a local... More

This restaurant is something else. Go for lunch and you will have a view all the way to Syria. I admit with a little imagination because there was a terrible sand storm in the region. The ritual of serving the real Mardin food is worth a documentary. The whole kitchen staff is consisted from local ladies and judging from their... More

This is an old "konak", (old house), renovated and made a restaurant. They offer local food. I was disappointed as we got a set menu that was not that good and they informed us later that the wine was extra, it should be said while serving.

Being there since the opening at 2001 Cercis was and is the best restaurant at Mardin. Don't even look to menu and leave everything staff only order Mahlep wine. Believe me you'll be happy! Though a bit expensive than other street restaurants of Mardin, its quality is always top.
