We have been here many times but this is the first time I've reviewed it. The staff are always lovely and accommodating with my 2 year old son. The food is delicious, the drinks cold (or hot depending what you want) but the highlight has to be the cakes. They are amazing!! I can't fault any of them, and I've... More

this is a gem of a place with beautiful home backed cakes and bread and a real old fashioned setting with the waitresses dressed a bit like Land Girls from war time. The china crockery, all mistmatched is charmng too but it really is pretty pricey, sure they would get fuller if they realised there's a recession and we love... More

I wanted to do something a bit different with the bridal party and mothers and went to Interlude for afternoon tea organised by cousin. The staff were really excited and encouraged us to play games (suitable for the venue, we did quizzes etc) they allowed us to dress up the table with balloons etc and were really helpful.the afternoon tea... My lovely daughter-in-law organised my 70th birthday party at Interlude. So lovely, so unusual, such lovely staff and wonderful food. My guests came from South Wales, Newcastle, Oxfordshire, London, the Yorkshire Dales, Gloucestershire and Wetherby. Everyone was so impressed. I could not have had a better "do". Thank you all so much for making this special birthday even more special

This lovely place, full of vintage china and memorabilia, existed long before the new vintage lifestyle took off. It serves lunches too but I went there for tea with a friend and had sandwiches followed by cake. They were both home made, delicious and the staff let us stay on, chatting, well after closing time. If you're looking for a... More

A group of 8 friends had lunch here today and what a lovely time we had! The staff were attentive and friendly, the decor is a delight and the food was tasty and plentiful. We intend to try different restaurants and this is one we will definitely be returning to - excellent!

What a quaint environment for a group of friends to meet, so much to look at in the dining area so many marvellous cakes to choose from, so much stuff to buy from an era fondly regarded. Super service from friendly and informative staff, like stepping back in time and a chance to really relax from the hustle and bustle... More

Had afternoon tea with friends. Very nicely presented, china tea cups and cake stands. Staff friendly. Delicate sandwiches were lovely; shop-bought sliced bread, but good flavour and pleasant mix of fillings. However, the sweet things didn't deliver the promise the visuals offered. The cream scone tasted like cardboard, and too heavy on the baking powder for my teeth to find... More
