Hidden away behind the indoor market, Interlude Tea Room brings an ambience and quality not often found in today's busy times. Great food, all made and baked on the premises (including their bread), wonderful service and a chance to chill out before returning to the 21st century.

Love the atmosphere - excellent service, good food - great place for lunch. Snacks & specials. Staff are really friendly - nothing is too much trouble.

I was introduced to Interlude on New Year's Eve, ever so glad, my friends go quite often...I can see why. Great decor, fantastic service, lovely tea and coffee, huge scones and cakes.....beware...if you are on a diet just have a cuppa.

Interlude is a trip back in time, the crockery is all retro, mix n match, there are nick nacks on your table such as old postcards of various places, old photos. If you need service there is a little bell on the table to ring (I love this lol!) There are various retro/antique bric a brac items and clothing around... More

For me it’s just like visiting my gran’s house when I was a child, taking in the fascinating period items and enjoying a lovely afternoon tea complete with vintage crockery. An independent establishment full of charm and originality which is a welcome change from the standard big-name eateries.

Wow! What an experience. This isn't just a café it is a beautiful experience. The food is first class, the service is second to non and the decor is quirky excellence. Think wartime glamour with homeliness added in as extra. Bone China cup and saucers. Willow pattern plates. Go hungry though as the portions are not for the feint hearted!... More

This very quirky little tea room is well worth a visit, it also has a little retro clothes shop upstairs, all the food is home made and excellent, the custard is also homemade and to die for, it is very popular and does sell out of the specials quickly, you can book a table, if you are looking for something... This is the second time I have been to Interlude and each time the service is amazing. It has a lovely little feel about the place and in needs to be experienced.

A must visit! Lovely tea room, takes you back in time. All home cooked food & generous portions too. We had the bacon, brie & cranberry in a home made bread cake. It was gorgeous. Came back later for the home made scones with jam & cream. The service is excellent, lovely people. Will definitely return!

They were almost closed but let us in anyway and we were really glad. Had an American cousin visiting so it was the perfect setting, ridiculously British tearoom. Scones good but cream was whipped not clotted. I love it though and would go back in a heartbeat. Coffee machine not working so late but had a delicious cafetiere instead.
