Me and my girlfriend went here for a 3 course dinner and had a first class menu with first class recommendation from the very friendly and helpful owner! What a nice place. We felt very welcome, had perfect service and food and very good value for the money. You should definitely try this place while you are in town! The... More

We have been once at this little cosy restaurant in Jimena de la Frontera. Very good food and enough of it for really good prices! The wine is good too and the staff very pleasant and helpful. We will come back!

We have eaten here several times both for the menu of the day at lunch and dinner. The food is very good and the service is friendly. Will go back the next time we visit.

During a week's stay in the town, morning coffee in small groups on the outside tables here became a daily ritual. We also ate excellent lunches here twice, and had a first class evening meal here in a group of 20+. Top recommendation, with the indomitable Pepe scurrying about keeping everybody happy and entertained!

La Tasca is one of the Jimena long-term restaurants; it's been there forever, while others have come and gone. That obviously says something. It's not in the least pretentious, rather offering simple local fare, from tapas to meals. There's outside seating as well as quite a large indoor dining area. We've eaten here quite a few times over the years,... More

Had dinner here with the children. Were directed to a quick menu - no doubt for tourists - and we're very unimpressed. Maybe some if the food was just ok - but thats generous. The one item we had off the main menu was very good. Would not return - we left most of it.

Because of the good reviews we dined here one night but were underwhelmed by the experience. Although the place was not exactly packed it took a long time to get menus and a drink and when the food arrived it was OK but not as tasty as other Spanish meals that we had had. Maybe we went on a bad... More

Good range of typical Spanish dishes, well cooked and explained by (probably) the owner. He was most helpful throughout and knows his wines. Located on the edge of the main square in Jimena and a lovely spot to eat outside on a balmy Andalusian evening in April. We wish we were still there!

This is a really charming little restaurant beside the main square. The service is delightful and Seńora is in the kitchen, emerging only at the end to beam at all around. She makes her own fresh vegetables every day and cooks them beautifully. This is very rare for this part of Spain and, accordingly a lovely surprise. The food is consistently good... More

The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. They serve typical Andalucian food which is excellent value. On occasions its also nice place to go and sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by.
