Because of the good reviews we dined here one night but were underwhelmed by the experience. Although the place was not exactly packed it took a long time to get menus and a drink and when the food arrived it was OK but not as tasty as other Spanish meals that we had had. Maybe we went on a bad... More

Good range of typical Spanish dishes, well cooked and explained by (probably) the owner. He was most helpful throughout and knows his wines. Located on the edge of the main square in Jimena and a lovely spot to eat outside on a balmy Andalusian evening in April. We wish we were still there!

This is a really charming little restaurant beside the main square. The service is delightful and Seńora is in the kitchen, emerging only at the end to beam at all around. She makes her own fresh vegetables every day and cooks them beautifully. This is very rare for this part of Spain and, accordingly a lovely surprise. The food is consistently good... More

The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. They serve typical Andalucian food which is excellent value. On occasions its also nice place to go and sit outside with a coffee and watch the world go by.

We had six wonderful and very different meals (each) in La Tasca during our 12 day stay in Jimena de la Frontera. The couple were very welcoming and helpful, and the food was fresh, and cooked to perfection. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and if we ever go back to Jimena, this is... More

Catering for a party of 20 in Jimena for a week's choral singing, mine host, the estimable Pepe, entertained and fed us royally. As we were booked, they were well-prepared, and this was an efficient operation, with nobody kept waiting for long. The food was extravagantly ample, well-prepared, varied and very tasty. Excellent value at 13 Euros a head all... More

We just stopped at this place for a drink on their terrace. Friendly owner. 1 beer & 1 wine € 2.60 & a brochure of the village.

I ate here on a Sunday evening - we were a very large group that happily split into separate tables. The poor waiter was rushed off his feet as we literally took over the whole restaurant and I think we were a bit of a surprise. The waiter coped well given the circumstances. The food was nothing amazing but absolutely... More

This is a delightful and typical Andalucian tasca in a delightful, typical Andalucian white village. The drive from the coast is pleasant, through orange groves and farmed countryside. The village at the top of the hill is worth walking about before or after lunching at La Tasca. One of our party was a vegan and the owner went out of... More

The owner of this place is very attentive and kind, and is very concerned if you don't clean your plate. I found that the oil they use to fry things is not to my liking, as I had baby squid and pork cutlets and the flavor was off. My husband had fish dishes and liked them very much. It's a... More
