Travel through Bala to the coast 3 or 4 times a month and been looking for restaurant to stop and thought we had found some where better than a cafe but after waiting 45 minutes to be served a wafer thin grey T-bone steak and cold veg for my self and my wife being served tinned chilli with disco crisps... Came to Bala for the weekend a couple of weeks ago,. 5 members of my family and myself ventured into what is named as 'Y Cwrt', it was fast service, smiles all around, perfect meal, all cooked to perfection, however they do not accept card, which was alittle inconvenient and must have been hard and annoying for some customers. Two... More

Our third visit to this restaurant (first reviewed in October 2012, didn’t bother the second time) and, sadly, what was wrong with it then is worse now. Y Cwrt is in a building which had been an eyesore in Bala High Street for years, and which, initially, they had rejuvenated brilliantly. Sadly this rejuvenation seems to have ground to a... More

The hotel we stayed at in Bala did not open it's restaurant on a Sunday evening so we ventured across the road to the Italian. There was only one other couple in at 7.30 pm. My husband ordered soup as a starter to be told ' there's no soup' not a good start. However the meal was very good and... More

Apologies for the length of this review - however, a 1 star rating requires a full explanation: Near to Bala for 1 week and we ate at 2x other establishments on the main street (both good). Fancied an evening Italian - here's an abridged version: the restaurant opened 60 min late - the 'chef', drinking a pint outside the adjoining... More

We arrived early in a Friday evening after a long journey. Despite some of the other comments the young girl who served us was really sweet and friendly. It's a funny place. It's obviously relatively new but the decor reminded me of some 80s place that was trying to be swanky! It's was quite funny and a mishmash of styles... More

Rude staff and long wait for a pizza which is over priced. The staff made me feel awkward like we weren't welcome. Go across the road to the kebab house it's cheaper nicer and they have friendly staff
