As it was Father's day in the UK we had booked a table as we thought it could be busy. Only 4 tables occupied throughout our lunch so really didn't have to worry. The food though was not a let down. We started with the mussels cooked with garlic, shallots, cream and smoked salmon and with the scallops on a cauliflower puree... More

We picked this hotel after searching on the internet and we were not disappointed. Despite the awful weather while we were there we had a most enjoyable stay. The room was small but spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate in the restaurant which was very pleasant. The food was delicious, fresh and well cooked. My only criticism... More

Courteous and helpful service from staff, The food was excellent and the wine good. We have been to this hotel restaurant many times. And of course it helps to be in such a beautiful place.

3 of us had a lovely bar meal here today, after stumbling across this little gem by accident on TripAdvisor. I can highly recommend the Cullen Skink as one of the best I have ever tasted. We followed this up with a delicious fish pie and one of our party opted for haddock in batter which they were most pleased... More

The place has a wonderful outlook, overlooking the water with an outdoor seating area. We had a bar meal in the very comfortable bar. You should try the Fish Pie- it's absolutely delicious. The only negative comment I can make is that the owner made a telephone call from behind the bar complaining to someone about unauthorized use of his... More

The focus seems to be on fresh, local sea food. It is simply cooked to enhance the natural flavour and helpings are so generous that I chose to have 2 starters.

We loved it so much, we returned for a second lunch from the small cottage we were renting on Lismore across the Loch. We have eaten at many Michelin rated restaurants including Can Roca in Girona and Pic in Valence and whilst not indulging in the detail of these top (3 Star Michelin) restaurants, the Pierhouse in Port Appin scores... Good room with new bathroo m and great shower. They did not replace the soap and shower gel as most of the hotel do. If you like television, it is a bit small, only 14 inches. Materass was not the best. Small lounge area.

3 of us went to the Pierhouse hotel restaurant for lunch, looking forward to the advertised excellent local seafood. Despite a wonderful location and previous fine dining experiences there, the food on this occasion was disappointing. In particular, I ordered a main course of the langoustine platter which at around £28 should have been fantastic. However, it turned out to... More

Thank you for your review although I too are disappointed, by your comments. The main thing I can assure you is that our langoustines were not frozen but would appear to have been over-chilled and for this I sincerely apologise. The result of over-chilling gives the impression of freezing and then leads to an excess of water inside the shell.... More

We stopped by on our way from Mull to Skye, but only I was eating. Staff were great, courteous and accommodating (helping an adjacent table by offering food from the restaurant menu in the bar area). I ordered the mussels which were definitely the best I have ever had. They were cooked in a creamy sauce which was enhanced by... More

We are delighted you enjoyed your mussels which are one of our specialities. The smoked salmon sets them apart from most other places and gives them their unique flavour as you have discovered. Thank you for your very nice review and we will hope to see you again someday soon. Kind regards Nick More
