This was our second visit to the Pierhouse and we have never been disappointed. This time we were greeted by the owner who was friendly and welcoming. He offered us a comfy seat by the fire and a drink before dinner. We ordered from here whilst enjoying a lovely gin and tonic. When our starters were ready, we were shown... More

The long drive down from the main road is well worth it. Wonderful views and a great location overlooking the Loch and Lismore were the reward. We called in for a bar meal, having fish and chips - very fresh fish and a good sized portion. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was quite full and there... More

We visited twice over the space of a week it was that good, my wife and I both had the Muscles and the Fish Pie as we had tasted each others on the previous occasion. It is one of my wife's favourites and she referred to it as one of if not the best she had had. The bar menu... More

Dear Mr Sturdy. I always appreciate it when people use their real names so I know who I am talking to, so thank you. I am delighted you enjoyed our food, both restaurant and bar and indeed our fish pie is one of our most popular dishes so I am very pleased your wife thought it was the best she... More

I phoned before arriving for lunch to see if there were vegan options for me and was told something could be done . I had suggested a risotto and the chef agreed to do one . We came for lunch just as the weather was clearing and the views over the bay are so beautiful - you can just sit... More

We will always endeavour to satisfy the dietary requirements of all our guests and I am extremely pleased our chef was able to produce a dish to your personal satisfaction. Our mussels are straight out of Loch Linnhe and as you say, they are huge and I am very glad your daughter enjoyed them. I am delighted we were the... More

I first went to the Pierhouse in the late 80s when I was searching for the best vantage point for Castle Stalker viewing. It appeared like a Brigadoonish vision from out of nowhere at the end of a very long road, a white-washed cottage of sheer perfection on the banks of Loch Linnhe. Charmed, I went in, and have been... This overlooks the Lynn of Lorn and the Isle of Lismore. It specialises in seafood and my wife and I enjoyed a starter of mussels followed by fresh fish and chips. The quality and quantity of food was impressive and neither of us could finish our meal. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The views across the water... More

Wonderful restaurant located on the edge Loch Linnhe. It's off the beaten track but full of life in a lovely village location. It's place to chill and relax. The food is excellent and the staff are very accommodating. We ate an afternoon tea and an evening meal there and had some wonderful seafood, which was delicious. We would have loved... More

We only stopped for coffee here on our way home to Forres but that lead us to going on a boat trip round the islands. The scones were just out of the oven and delicious and the coffee was good too.

Having had a very nice meal at the PierHouse in February, a friend invited us there on our recommendation. What a disappointment. Monday must be the chef's night off. Starters OK - just. Then our whole table was cleared and we were asked if we would like a dessert. Well, possibly but after the Main Course please. So we waited... More

Sir. I am extremely sorry that your dining experience failed to live up to expectations compared to your previous visit and can only apologise for your disappointment. It is highly unusual for such an incident to occur and I have no doubt that the time spent waiting affected your opinion on the quality of the food. I hope that at... More

As it was Father's day in the UK we had booked a table as we thought it could be busy. Only 4 tables occupied throughout our lunch so really didn't have to worry. The food though was not a let down. We started with the mussels cooked with garlic, shallots, cream and smoked salmon and with the scallops on a cauliflower puree... More
