Great views, great food

Follow a single track road for a few minutes off the main road and you'll get great views of the sun setting over Lismore. The restaurant also has a bar, the Ferry Bar, with a good bar menu. Great food for good prices. We enjoyed our evening meal here very much!

The food in the restaurant was mainly seafood and if like my husband you don't want fish then there was not much choice. It was also expensive.

Thus is a great little restaurant if you are in the area, though it is a bit pricy. I thoroughly enjoyed my starter Which was a nice thick Cullen Skink, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her muscles however I was not as pleased with my main course. I will be visiting again however I think I will stick to their... More

We first discovered this gem about 20 years ago, so it's an old friend. Three of us visited, and we all had to have the Pierhouse Platter, which was simply delicious. My husband cooks great mussels, so is often disappointed with restaurants' offerings, but not here. Tasty, perfectly cooked, well balanced sauce. I initially wasn't sure about the tiny flakes... I was staying nearby with friends and we liked the Poorhouse so much we just kept going back. We only ate in the bar but they do have a very competent bar menu including the ubiquitous fish & chips, burger etc but also seafood, game pies, and daily specials. I had skate wing one evening which was both delicious and... More

Opposite the jetty for the Lismore Ferry, this is a popular spotdespite being off the beaten track. Staying locally, a group of us ate here twice. Most of the room is taken up by the tableclothed restauarant for which you need to book and for which there is a separate menu but we ate in the small bar area on... More

Nipped down the lane to busy Port Appin to look at this well reviewed est. It was a horrible Friday dinner time(july31st) and the rain was relentless. We ran inside and received a warm welcome. Nice big bar and a specials board - catchy. We only stopped for tea and too nosy the menu. The menu was very appealing and... More

It was a great surprise that my friend suggested we sail his boat round to The Pierhouse for dinner, and lucky that they had a table early to give us a chance to get back in the light. Shame that they don't have a dinghy dock though, as hauling it up the shingle was a bit of a hassle. The... More

The Food is not fancy but the fish is cooked expertly. The Salmon and Plaice on the bone both perfect. The trout pate was quite pleasant, the only criticism - the Crab cakes tasted more like mashed potato and I've had much better chips. It was still worth the long drive to eat here.

This was my second time to visit this fantastic restaurant, the food was excellent on both occasions and the prices are very good. We chose to share a number of dishes between our party, there were six of us, and the restaurant were happy to provide individual plates for us to help ourselves from the dishes placed in the middle...
