Fantastic ocean view

Watching the turmoil on the beach is unforgettable. Nature at its best. Not so the fish soup. Watery, could perhaps have been better if it hadn't been freshly made. As others have said the location of this charming cafe is fantastic. On the beach and easily accessible either from the nearby carpark or after walking from Arnarstapa. The soup is a little more expensive than other places but it is really tasty with the freshest fish. On the English menu one item just says "homemade bread and butter" and... More

I always stop at Fjöruhúsið when I'm visiting Snæfellsnes. The location of the café is spectacular, right on the beach by a beautiful cave with basalt columns. The café and terrasse is quite small and can get very crowded in peak season. The selection of dishes is limited, no doubt due to the tiny kitchen. The service is friendly and... More

The soup was very thin, a minimum of seafood, a small bowl. Soup is $20.00 or 15.50 Euro a bowl. I was with native Icelanders who felt really ripped off.

Set in some of the most spectacular scenery you could imagine, this is a little gem! The main building holds a few tables and in colder or wet weather will no doubt get crowded. When warmer everyone wants to sit on the terrace, which is what you will see in the guide books. For such a small place, their offerings... More

This place is worth a lunch stop on a trip around the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Small, with a nice outdoor deck. Limited menu, but they had skyr cake, so I was good. Keep an eye out for the side road to the South to Hellnar. Follow the road all the way down to the small parking lot and then walk down... More

This is a great little café right at the beach edge. We walked from nearby Arnarstapi through the rain and find this a lovely little hideaway to dry out and warm up. The friendly staff refilled our cups several times as we clearly must have looked like a pair of drowned cats.

Wow, this restaurant was at the end of an hour walk along the coastline that was punctuated by wonderful geologic features. So, to have such wonderful food where there is nothing else was really wonderful. We were able to sit on the porch and enjoy the view because it was a nice sunny day. We had fish soup, delicious and... More
