Great vacation restaurant combining Caribbean/French cuisine

We had a great dinner here. All of the food was great except for a few of us that had the giant crayfish special - the dish was great, but all of the crayfish were overcooked. Decent wine selection and good drinks. Very good service and the owner does a good job of hosting. Right on the beach!

My wife and I had dinner at Jacala during our recent trip to Anguilla. We first tried Jacala on our previous trip two years ago (see my previous review), and had a great experience then — we enjoyed it just as much this time. Jacala’s decor and beachfront setting make it one of the nicest settings for dinner that we’ve... More

Such a GREAT place for a relaxing lunch! I LOVE their cold cucumber soup with tomato sorbet, it is AWESOME!!!! Such a lovely restaurant, spent a leisurely two hours sipping rose, watching the world go by on beautiful Mead's Bay and enjoying our delicious meal. I had the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, done to perfection. It is one of... More

We have eaten here several times and enjoy the food and experience. The restaurant is on Meads Bay beach and serves gourmet style food. I really enjoy the cold cucumber soup with spicy tomato ball in it. The fish dishes are always good. Service is very attentive and the restaurant owners are fun. It is a popular restaurant so reservations... More

Not often on these islands that I feel like I got more of a meal than I paid for in an atmosphere that looks like its from a magazine shoot, but that is Jacala. Everyone's meal was excellent, but then again 3 of the 4 of us could not help but order the lightly breaded chicken breast stuffed with lobster... More

This was our first visit to this French restaurant. The food was fantastic. We both had foils gras and fillet mignon which were superb. The waitress was not very well versed with the specials or describing the menu and kept forgetting what she was saying. The owner came to each table which was a nice touch. It was very expensive... Jacque was very personable and friendly. He brought over freshly caught crayfish, which my husband ordered. They were absolutely delicious!!!! Prepared simply grilled with olive oil salt & pepper. They were tender and sweet!! I had the grilled snapper which was equally as good. Preparation was the same. We sat right at the beach and the view was wonderful.

The amuse bouche was the cold asparagus soup, my DH likes this so much that he makes it in season. It was a small cup served with a light, crispy, homemade tortilla chip. One of the specials was beet gazpacho, and I ordered that, it was wonderful; it had walnuts and goat cheese, an interesting and good combination. I would... More

We really enjoyed lunch at Jacalas. The watermelon goat cheese salad is superb. Hubby tried the fettuccine with tomatoes and basil. He also really enjoyed it. For dessert we had the coffee sampler. An espresso, gelato, crime brûlée and chocolat paut. Yum. Fabulous beachfront setting.

Had a terrific meal here. The setting is lovely and the host and owner was (contrary to other's opinions) entirely gracious. Everything from appetizers to desserts was perfect and perfectly served. The lobster stuffed chicken was a real hit. Go here for a true culinary experience.
