We have eaten at the Hall a number of times and always have to check the bill as money is often added, randomly, a pudding here and there that wasn't consumed. This Sunday was no different ~ the food was poor, cold potatoes and very salty beef, with a substantial wait for the food to be brought out. The staff... More

I took my mum here for sunday lunch today and if im honest I was very unsure, nothing to do with this particular place but usually when I go out for sunday lunch I come away still hungry as I dont eat many vegetables and alot of places tend to give little meat and lots of veg however that was... This really is a fab Sunday Lunch. This time I had the pork and my husband the beef. Both were suburb. The roast potatoes were fluffy in the middle and the stuffing is really unusual and morish! The staff are really accomadating, and although we tend to book at the last minute, they usually manage to fit us in. We... More

Visited Saturday 3rd January for lunch with friends had the tastiest lasagne I have ever had waitress was lovely had a lovely time. I will say though that we had to wait an hour and a quarter for starter but the pub was very busy with meals and we later learned that one chef was off ill and as we... More

I've visited the Hall Inn a few times (not by choice) The Landlords are rude and are constantly making tasteless sexist jokes with regular drinkers at the bar, loud enough for the whole pub to hear. The wrong food came to my table and the male landlord spoke to the waitress, who was lovely and incredibly helpful to our table,... More

Large group of us went for lunch. Meatball starter was delicious and almost enough for a main course. My main of lamb was beautiful plentiful, and vegetables cooked to perfection. Always a great place to eat. Lost a mark because of the struggle to cope with a full restaurant making the service a little slow. With food this good it... More

Food took over an hour to arrive. I was surprised to find that breast of lamb was a few thin stringy slices in a strong sauce (to be fair, the sauce was nice). The lamb tasted old, and I suspected the sauce was being used to disguise that fact. Even worse than that was that when I got home I... More

Upon arrival the place felt homely - staff immediately greeted us from behind the bar and set about making us feel welcome. A large group (20+) dined on the 2 courses for £10.50 menu. Everyone agree that the choice and quality of food was great- really impressive menu for such a good price. Those that tried deserts were equally impressed... More

A family lunch for four at the Hall Inn yesterday was a most enjoyable experience. The food was good - well cooked - well presented. The house wine was pleasant enough and reasonably priced. Service more than adequate. My only criticism would be the number of covers squeezed into the restaurant. For a big person it can be a tight... More

Visited yesterday with friends and was impressed by clean laid out tables and welcome from staff. There is an extensive menu at 2 courses for£10.50 and a wide variety on a specials board. A friend and I had delicious roast pork sandwiches and chips at £5.50 each. Another friend had the two course menu and would recommend it. We will... More
