Large group of us went for lunch. Meatball starter was delicious and almost enough for a main course. My main of lamb was beautiful plentiful, and vegetables cooked to perfection. Always a great place to eat. Lost a mark because of the struggle to cope with a full restaurant making the service a little slow. With food this good it... More

Food took over an hour to arrive. I was surprised to find that breast of lamb was a few thin stringy slices in a strong sauce (to be fair, the sauce was nice). The lamb tasted old, and I suspected the sauce was being used to disguise that fact. Even worse than that was that when I got home I... More

Upon arrival the place felt homely - staff immediately greeted us from behind the bar and set about making us feel welcome. A large group (20+) dined on the 2 courses for £10.50 menu. Everyone agree that the choice and quality of food was great- really impressive menu for such a good price. Those that tried deserts were equally impressed... More

A family lunch for four at the Hall Inn yesterday was a most enjoyable experience. The food was good - well cooked - well presented. The house wine was pleasant enough and reasonably priced. Service more than adequate. My only criticism would be the number of covers squeezed into the restaurant. For a big person it can be a tight... More

Visited yesterday with friends and was impressed by clean laid out tables and welcome from staff. There is an extensive menu at 2 courses for£10.50 and a wide variety on a specials board. A friend and I had delicious roast pork sandwiches and chips at £5.50 each. Another friend had the two course menu and would recommend it. We will... More

This establishment understands it client base, they give volume (a South Wales Trait?) Service is pleasant and welcome. Draught beer selection good and well kept. Culinary treat? Just falls short. Although "rustic" needs a few "bob" thrown at it to improve the fabric. Please go, you'll feel you've eaten, but you'll not come away thinking that was "something special" It... More

This is a return visit for us on what is a very quaint pub/restaurant with lovely lunch menu at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and lovely ambience. Was slightly disappointed in today's lunch - the starter of salmon and leek fish cakes were a bit bland and couldn't taste any salmon or leek. The sweet chilli sauce was a blessing... More

Many thanks to Stuart and Steph. They did a marvellous job catering for 27 of us for lunch during a partial power cut. The Hall Inn is a charming and cozy pub with a great atmosphere and made even warmer by the candles! We all chose from the lunch menu - excellent value with 2 courses for £10.50. My friends... More
