Sorry, I don't dislike this place because we cound't find it, the people said I it was burned because of the fire on January, it's a pitty!! so this terrible qualification is not for the restaurant is for Tripadvisor because the fire in the Old Town was 6 months ago and this restaurant is still in the ranking and we... Wanted to try this place from the reviews on tripadvisor, but alas, the fire of 2014 burned it down. :-(

Had high hopes for this place that it might be some amazing French-Chinese-Tibetan place but the food wasn't that tasty or filling, and not cheap, especially the yak (had much better meals at Buskar Resto).

What a great find! We came across this on Tripadvisor and we were blown away. Please try the cheese, ham and yak meat platter as a starter, the cheese and yak meat is to die for. We actually asked them where they got the produce and traipsed around Shangri la looking for them! The yak in tin foil is great... More

We had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. Not only did we enjoy hearing the personal account of the owners, but they went out of their way to prepare a unique raclette that combined Swiss and Tibetan cheese, Yak dried meat (and yes very good wine). The kids stayed longer to play with the cats and enjoy the unique atmosphere... More

I visited this restaurant during my stay in Shangrila. The place is really nice and overlooks the temple, which at night is beautiful. The service was good. Unfortunately, I went for Tibetian food and the three dishes I ordered were not thrilling. Fresh, but not too tasty. The food at Arro Khampa was very good, also liked the French influence in the decor and cuisine. A little on the expensive side but the excellent staff and excellent food made up for this.

This restaurant is fantastic. Damien and Ting are managing it in a very friendly way for travellers coming to eat extraordinary food from their Tibetan chef. Try the yack with mint, the yack in a curry sauce and the fried vegetables, all awesome. The place is warm and very well decorated. If you understand French, you will in addition enjoy... More

This is a very nice restaurant. It's cozy, it has good staff and the food is just perfect!!! We never went twice to the same restaurant in China but we went twice to this one! We tried yak cooked in his own juice. It doesn't sound good haha, but it's really nice meat and really the flavor is so good.... More

The service and food were both excellent. Really tasty yak hot pot and pakoras. They also serve Shangri-la brewed beer that was yummy. Staff spoke English very well and were extremely friendly.
