We had really good food, plenty of it and very good service. Would highly recommend. Very good choice of Greek / Cretan cuisine and a very varied European menu.

Just returned from a ten break in Amoudara and Uncle George's Taverna was definitely one of favourites restuarants. We ate here for dinner 3 times during our stay and were not disappointed. Every meal we had was delicious and very good value for money. We could not fault the lovely food and friendly service provided.

This Greek family welcomes every guest with home-made tzatziki and bread. The menu is varied and ranges from traditional Greek gyros (€6,50) to a mixed fish plate (€13,00) using fresh local fish. The service is excellent. The family recognizes you when you pop by for a second (third, fourth...) time, truly does their best to satisfy the guests and makes... More

We said that we didn't want the bread. The man said OK and took the bread away. Nevertheless we were charged for the bread ( + 2 Euro). Go where the locals eat - Heraklion. There the bread is included.

Food rather ordinary, little atmosphere, anonymous service. Acceptable food but nothing to write home about.

Costas and his wife are the most genuine and caring people you will ever meet, nothing is ever too much and they are... More

Located on the main street in Amoudara (Andreas Papandreou) it has a large garden with trees and a fountain with a sculpture- perhaps Uncle George-. I Suppose it is a family run restaurant. The services are excellent. The food is like homemade. Try as starter the wine-leaves filled with rice home made. But there are also many other Greek specialties... More

This place is very welcoming. The owners make you feel appreciated. You want to come back again and again. The guests feel like family. Had a very nice lunch. The garden is lovely.
