Food was average. We ordered the prawn curry and it was not very spicy - almost bland if you can make curry bland - and the tuna tataki - which was decent but not something to write home about. The musician who played that night was great - great voice and guitarist - very entertaining.

Good dinner with similar menu you will see in most places across Bora Bora - nice atmosphere and staff was generally good.

During our week long stay in Bora Bora in March we visited Mai Kai Bora Bora restaurant for dinner. It was our last evening in Bora Bora. Unfortunately weather was not good, pouring rain, even running just a few steps from our car to the entrance of the restaurant we got wet. The place was beautiful inside: high ceilings, ocean... We were very surprised when we walked into the restaurant. From outside you can't see anything. The restaurant has beautiful high ceilings and it sits by the water. They recommend reservations in high season (July), we walked right in. There was a very good singer at the bar. The food was delicious. I had the shrimp curry and my husband... More

We really enjoyed the atmosphere with the local musician singing an eclectic mix of songs during our meal, however, the music was a little on the loud side. The menu had a good variety of options and the cocktails and wine options were decent. The chef came out to check that we were happy with our meals which we were.... More

My husband and I keep a Top Ten list of our favorite restaurants throughout the world. We list Mai Kai comfortably in our top five! Fortunately, we went here early in our trip so we were able to eat here twice! On our first visit, we were blown away by Mai Kai's beautiful dining room with soaring wood ceilings and... More

This was by far our best experience dining out in Bora Bora. The food was outstanding, the chef even made a special Vegan course for my wife. All what we had was delicious and the prices were quite good espcially compared to other places in Bora Bora. The Service was great, Jessica was sweet and gave us service that we... More

During our vacation in Bora Bora we were recommended to try this restaurant by our Jet Ski guide. We were very impressed. Definitely worth it.

Maikai Bora Bora restaurant was one of the dining highlights of our trip to the island. Located a short distance from the village at Viatape, it is definitely worth the trip from any of the resorts on Bora Bora. My family and I ate there twice during our 8 days on Bora Bora and tried several menu items and were... More
