Description: Prashad is an award winning Indian vegetarian restaurant in the heart of West Yorkshire. It is based in a renovated pub building in Drighlington, which has been transformed into an intimate and vibrant Gujarati eaterie. It features a large bar area where the in-house mixologist serves up perfectly-matched cocktails, locally-brewed beers and wines with roadside snacks and Indian tapas. There are three different dining areas and a snug that can be individually booked for private parties. The open pass kitchen brings the passionate Head Chef and her team closer to the customers. In the last 12 months alone we have been awarded the Morrisons Magazine Great Grub Award 2013, the Yorkshire Life Chef of the Year 2013 (which Minal and Kaushy won jointly), the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand 2014, and the Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards Best Indian Restaurant 2014!

We visited as a group of 4 on a fairly busy Wednesday night. Upon being seated we were given menus but not offered drinks. We had to wait until the waiter came back to take our order, it would have been preferable to have the drinks while reading the menu. When the drinks did arrive though my pineapple and coconut... So we were heading up to Scotland for a holiday from Hampshire and could not resist the urge to revisit this restaurant. Ok, so it did add an extra hour or two or three onto our journey but it was worth it. This time we took our children who thoroughly enjoyed the food. We especially enjoyed the mixed platter of... Saturday evening and we needed a good vegan meal, well this restaurant again excelled. Starter, Mains and deserts (yes had 2 again) were amazing. Shrikand is the most amazing desert I have ever tasted, just a shame there is not yet a vegan version. I need the recipe and hope it’s in the book I bought on a previous visit!... More

Always perfect food & service. Special chaat is delicious, warm chopped samosa, tamarind sauce etc. Vegetables are always fresh and cooked in a complex mixture of spices. Prashad serves the best Indian food I have ever tasted. Thank you.

Four of us (three meat eaters and one pescatarian) had an early dinner at Prashad on a Sunday evening. Initial impressions were good - bright, clean decor and tables at various levels so each area doesn't feel too crowded. We started with cocktails (Indian Sundowners and Ginger Old Fashioned, which were excellent) and some very crisp, fresh popodams and pickles.... More

My husband decided to treat his parents & myself on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Not realising where we were going, I had no prior expectations! However, by the end of the visit, I could easily and confidently say it was an awesome choice on my husbands part! The decor was very homely and warming, the service was by far... More

It was our first visit here and it won't be the last. We shared the platter of starters, this is an excellent way to give you a taste of everything. I usually think I prefer starters to mains, but here I enjoyed the main cause just as much. The nana bread and rice are also perfect. I particularly enjoyed the... More

I decided to visit Prashad not expecting too much as I'am a true meat lover and not so much a vegan. I was absolutely surprised as to how delicious the food was. The dishes were prepared with an array of spices and blends making each dish so exciting yet truly mouthwatering. The dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. The restaurant... More

Very unusual menu compared to the common or garden Indian in my experience. We didn't book and seemingly were lucky to get a table for two on a Saturday night! It was very busy but the service was excellent. My apprehension as a card carrying meat muncher going to a strictly veggie Indian was unfounded. Meal was very good although... More

Went to try out Prashad for a friends birthday last Thursday evening. We were in a large group of 16 but were greeted and had our initial drinks order taken in good time. We were shown upstairs to our table which had ample room for us all, the decor is simple but effective and helps to make a relaxing ambience.... More
