I tried Sri Lankan rice and curry from this place, it was so delicious and well spiced. The combination was superb. The place looked so nice.Amazing view, built closed to a paddy field. It will give you the whole village feeling. Staff was friendly too. Prices are little bit expensive but it is worth to pay a visit when considered the atmosphere and... More

We have stopped, as suggested by our guide, at Saruketha restaurant in Muttettugala in our trip from Nilaveli to Negomboo (near Colombo). The buffet was 1.200 rupee (7,15€) per person plus the drink, but we have chosen to select from the menu a la carte. So we have taken a club special sandwich (950 rupee - 5,65€) and a praws... More

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Habarana. Service was pleasant, food and drink were nice. Toilets ok - bit disconcerting with a dog sleeping in one of the cubicles. Surroundings were relaxed and we didn't feel rushed.

Stopped here Thursday 3rd July we had two cheese and tomato sandwiches and a beer also paid for our drivers Sri Linnaean meal ( which was three times more expensive than the Elephant Park Hotel at the orphanage) you had to spot the cheese and long with filthy dirty toilets, miserable waiters. Very expensive for what we had and not... More

I was with my friends coming back from a Safari trip from Habarana where we saw this place and stopped for lunch. The Restaurant was built in a way to provide a rural village atmosphere which gave us high hopes when entering the restaurant. But..... Everything happened after that was a total disaster Horrible Waiting Staff: The waiters were dressed... More

We had visited this restau on our way from Colombo to Kandalama, Dambulla. The minute I entered into this open restau, I had a great feeling about it. It looked like those those upmarket restau where you have delectable food and fine service. The service was good. No doubt about it. We ordered grilled chicken breasts with pepper sauce. I... More

Nice place for dinner and lunch. I used to went there for dinner. Dinner with loe light is awsome under coconul shelter. There is a outer dining area surrounded with bamboo trees ideal for evening.

I have been coming to saruketha for more than 5 years and lament the fact that the once exceptional standards have gradually slipped away. Food is good but the issue is the total package for which they charge above average prices. The place feels threadbare and a bit unclean. Surely there must be a way to keep the rustic feel... More
