We arrive here to Astorga after a long long walk due El Camino pilgrimage; after we were literally kicked out of the Hotel Spa Ciudad de Astorga, due our tired imaged of pilgrim, we decide to walk around and we found this place open. Again the look us from head to toe, and kindly ask us if we want a... More

If you are in the area, try the Maragato stew. You won't be disappointed but take my advice, be hungry!

In the middle of Castilla y Leon, in the area of Astorga, we found a gem in a small and beautiful restaurant. Run by the same family for the 140 years, La Peseta is a great all around restaurant. Order anything, and you will be surprise in the best way.

La Peseta was a stop on Michener's travels throughout the Iberian peninsula, and it is no wonder why. The food is excellent! But you can't miss with anything. When... More

The food is huge in proportion and well done, the waiters are smiling (a rarity in the mostly serious Castilla y Leon region). However, that being said, we didn't like 'cocido maragato' too much.. which we think isn't the restaurant's fault as we tried elsewhere and didn't like it either. And oh yes, the price is really economical.

Overappreciated. Good service, but food not worth value.
