The resturant is located on the coast and has a very classy atmosphere inside. There is also a patio area where you can dine over looking the ocean. That's is the only good thing about this restaurant. The service was awful. Our party of 7 waited over 40 minutes for appetizers then waited 25-30 more minutes for our main course.... More

My husband and I stopped by after a day at Isla Caja de Muerto (Coffin Island) for a nice romantic evening of dining. We ordered the "Mofongo relleno con camarones and langosta" (shrimp and lobster in mashed plantains) and strawberry frappes. Everything was delicious, the waiter was very nice and attentive, the music (saxophone player) was romantic and the sunset... More

We love seafood! and Salinas have plenty of places to choose from. We stop by a "La puerta del Sol restaurant "and we enjoy the food pretty much. It is a nice place to take your friends for a good fry fish!

Skip the noisy locale down the block... This place is been around for many years. Service is good and the food is also. But dinner on the balcony next to the sea... Watching the pelicans dive for food . Tranquil and quiet, this is the place to eat.

This restaurant has been around for some years now, so we decided to go to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered beer, sangria, fish turnovers and marlin bites to start. The turnover and marlin were quite tasty. For entrees we had garlic lobster in mofongo (mashed green plantain). It was not garlicky, tasted bland although it was freshly prepared. Service... More

The food here is usually fresh especially the lobster. There are many divers who use the bay and they pick up lobsters. When they do and get them up on land all of a sudden they don't know what to do with them. So the sell them to the restaurant. Same with the fish. Land crabs are kept in pens... More

With friends in Salinas, we were introduced to this restaurant, and every trip we make the hour ride from San Juan for the food. Good seafood, and typical Puerto Rican fare. The tostones rellenos come in shrimp, lobster, crab -and are extremely tasty! You cannot get them in San juan. Ask for Benny

Jan. 18, 2009. We stopped at Puerto al Sol last week on our way back from Guanica to San Juan. This was our third or fourth visit, and the restaurant changes not at all. It is timeless. Eat outside and watch the terns and pelicans search for their lunch while you eat yours: a huge pot of asapao (seafood stew... More
