It was lovely to discover that The Wishing Well has resurfaced. We had an excellent tea-time-treat on an otherwise un-noteworthy Bank Holiday afternoon (with damp weather ...). Lovely cream tea and a large piece of cake to follow ~ such that we needed more walking to salve the conscience :) Good luck with the new venture

Lovely garden with unique wood carvings, the remnants of victims of the Dutch Elm scourge of only a couple of years ago. the road noise of the A27 is a little intrusive, but the welcome and service at The Wishing Well cannot be faulted. My particular favourite, as Barry and Teresa know, is the Lemon Drizzle!!

Everything in the other reviews is true, friendly reception, lovely aspect in a cottage garden, beautiful home baked cakes and high quality food items. Pricey?? if judged against a chain perhaps, but if judged against quality on basis of value then it is fair.

Nicely appointed and good service. Only caution is the price! Asked for a ham roll (4.50), and i guess I was naive not asking, but a VERY small roll, a little ham and a few crisps - I was expecting a little too much maybe?

Mt husband and I took a party of 13 French people to the Wishing Well to experience a typical English tea, and we were not disappointed. The owner and staff were both friendly and efficient, the ambiance was lovely, the scones were superb and the cakes so delicious some members of the group had two! The wide choice of teas... More

Our family make a point of visiting "The Wishing Well" when we open our static caravan in March and usually can't help but pay a visit at least every couple of weeks. The service is homely and the food, whatever you fancy, is delicious. All cakes are home made and sandwiches made to order. We also purchase a Victoria Sandwich... More

Together with my wife we took my elderly parents to the tea rooms. The tea rooms are set just off the main A27 road, so you can hear the traffic, but is quickly forgotten. Relaxing views of the Long Man of Wilmington Downs. Well maintained flat lawns with several tables and parasols (yes there was sun too!). Access to the... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our tearoom. We are delighted that you enjoyed yourselves and hope to see you again, we will try to arrange the sun for your next visit! Your advise regarding turning right is very sensible. There is a roundabout a little further down the road near Drusillas Park. More
