So sorry to learn that Todmorden Old Hall is to close. For ten years now a group of ex-Todmorden Grammar School pupils have enjoyed fantastic hospitality and wonderful, freshly prepared, local food. This restaurant will be sadly missed by us all.

We can truly say this is the best restaurant we have found in the Calder Valley and we have tried a lot! What is so nice about it is the consistency. We have never had a bad meal and we always get a warm welcome from owners, Nick and Madeleine. Another wonderful bonus is the fact we never feel too... More

As you approach this restaurant you know that you are in for a treat. The surroundings are impressive. Once inside you will receive a very warm welcome from the owners Madeline and Nick. The food is all sourced locally, and cooked to order. There is a Think Tank menu on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, at an impressive £35 for 2... More

The overall experience was lovely. It was Valentines day and they'd decorated the rooms perfectly, rose petals on the table and a chocolate each. The food was wonderful, although a set menu the options were great. It was a wonderful service and neither of us could complain about anything. The drinks were great, the food were great and the staff... More

The Old Hall serves good quality, local produce in a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The building itself is impressive and inside the decoration really compliments its history. Service is excellent and the hosts make a real effort to ensure you enjoy your meal. A lovely selection of bread is given at the start of the meal and the choice... More

Lovely to walk up to the Old Hall (now Tod Vintner) and see the wood burning stove, the warm lighting, the array of bottles on the shelves and the wood panelling through the leaded windows .... ... and that was just the start. Very friendly, helpful proprietors, tasty bread basket selection, great starter (black pudding with spicy apple and pear... More

Yesterday I went for Sunday lunch at The Vintner Todmorden. I had a wonderful meal and as always the choice of wines did not disappoint. My starter of Mussels Kirkpatrick was absolutely yummy - lots of homebaked bread to accompany this dish. My main was the vegetarian option of Chick pea and cauliflower cassoulet - there were masses of fresh... More

I have had this restaurant recommended on a couple of occasions from work acquaintances and at first was quite impressed with the polite waitress with a fair knowledge of wines. However on receiving the starters they were average and on the last third of my crayfish cocktail I found two black hairs in the base of my glass. On notifying... More
