Popped in here for lunch after popping in the train for a few hours. The bean burrito I had was superb, far tastier then any meat based Mexican meal I've had before, the accompanying side salads also very fresh and tasty. Also sampled a nice local beer. Nice atmosphere and location with huge windows to ppl watch out of of!... More

Bank Hols. Weekend & the cafe was heaving. ordered from a Brill Menu, was really spoilt for choice. Delcious soup & Mains. We did have a long wait but was worth it. If i can say one thing to the owners..Get rid of the newspapers/Books. 'Cos people were unable to get a table as next to us were 3 people... More

This tastefully decorated gaff proves that meat free food can be fun and tasty. I would strongly recommend either of the mezzes which are a great combo of small mains and the luscious Bear salads (much of it sourced from the nearby local Incredible Edible co-op farm) and hummus. The specials board is always interesting - I had an amazing... More

This was the fourth or Fifth time I had been to the Bear Café and the food was as delicious and plentiful as ever. They have such a great choice. There are normally quite a few specials, plus an extensive menu. Tasty soups with sourdough bread, varied and fresh tasty salads, inventive panini fillings, lovely pasta, hummus, olives, an excellent... More

A real surprise. A vegetarian restaurant with a good, varied menu which specialises in salads made with leaves it has either grown itself, or sourced locally. A good atmosphere in the upstairs room. Try to bag one of the window seats; it's great for people watching, even in a fairly quiet town. Excellent banana cake for afternoon tea. You need... More

After a walk up to the Bridestones, my boyfriend and I decided to go for a coffee in Todmorden. We thought The Bear looked quite quirky and it seemed quite popular. When we got to the counter there were 3 members of staff who completely ignored us and after a few minutes I asked another waitress if we ordered here... More

Visit fairly regularly and always enjoy it. Gets really busy at lunch times so if you can wait till 2 to eat, I'd advise it! The platters are gorgeous and worth the money. Is a little more expensive than some lunch venues however everything is homemade on the premises and tastes excellent. Caters for GF which is a god send... More

A friend wanted to take me out to lunch as it was my birthday and asked me where I would like to go - I suggested that we go to The Bear as I had been a couple of months ago and enjoyed the experience. Being a Saturday it was very busy but we didn't have long to wait as... More

A return visit. One of my favourite places and worth the trek out. A great range if dishes including plenty of vegan options. Locally and organically sourced where possible. I had the sunshine salad and it was delicious.
