Once again had a lovely fish and chip supper at Grandma Pollards. My wife had the homemade cheese and onion pie, which she thinks is one of the best she has ever tasted. Reading the review below I guess some people just don't get this place. It's special because of the family tradition, quirky arrangements, Tony and his freebie 'dabs',... More

On our recent trip to the Yorkshire Dales we based ourselves in a cottage close to Walsden, Todmorden. The greatest discovery we made in this area was without a doubt Grandma Pollards Chippy. I have no idea what oil or dripping they fry their excellent fish and chips in but what I can say my wife and I both agreed... More

Visited Grandma Pollards for the first time on a Tuesday lunchtime. An unusual and confusing set up. You queue in the chip shop, order then are given a number and go out of the shop then back in through another door. There are a number of eating areas, in a small bus behind the shop, a number of outdoor tables... More

Very unusual place but full of character, excellent, efficient, friendly staff but above all, extremely tasty fish and chips, probably the best we have ever tasted. True northern spirit, you will not be disappointed.

Best ever fish and chips, every time we go to the garden centre , we have lunch at grandma pollards, we take home a cake, last time we took home strawberry slice, mmm I'm in heaven. Only downside, they don't open weekend. I have taken friends and they all agree , tony and his team are just fab.

As ever Tony was frying the fish, we often takeaway but sometimes for a nice treat we eat-in, in the conservatory, its always very clean, the young waiting staff are always jolly and hardworking. Our dinner of fish and chips with mushy peas and some white bread and butter with a steaming pot of tea is just wonderful. To finish... More

Called in to this chip shop when we were passing and found the food excellent , a lovely location with tables also outside near the canal locks. We were also surprised with the large FREE scallop and top up of tea, which is very unusual these days to get something for nothing. Enjoyed it that much we went back this... More

The hardest part of living near to Grandma Pollards is avoiding going there every night! The chips are fresh and incredible, the pies out of this world, and the fish excellent. Add to that the free dabs and batter bits, and you really can't go wrong! Add a vanilla slice (warning - they're too big for one person to eat... More
