I have to question a review that marks Grandma Pollards as terrible because of the lack of parking! I can only assume the reviewer didn't look across the canal at the clearly signposted, huge car park that is owned by Pollards. This car park is always open when the shop is and it is massive, it couldn't possibly have been... More

This fish and chip shop is out of this world. Just like how fish and chips should be. We wanted to take the grandchildren back this weekend but the only down side of this gem is that it is not open at weekend. Definitely worth the visit in the school holidays.

We were on holiday on our narrow boat, had heard about Grandma Pollards Chippy and were looking forward to trying it out. We moored very easily and walked down, the chippy was busy but our order was quickly taken, we chose haddock and small chips and were given a number and shown where to sit. The seating area was really... More

Have visited this place a few times now and will return again. The haddock is the whitest, the batter is the crispest, the staff are the friendlyist. There is a large car park at the rear, over the canal bridge. I always order a fish with mushy peas. In addition you get a few chips and a dab -free of... More

What can be said about this place other than, 'keep up the good work'! It's a real gem. The shop, food, staff, layout, cleanliness- all above board. Best chippy in north west? Yes I think so. Well done Tony and team!

Yet again a fantastic time at Grandma Pollards. Had to wait 30 min to get our food. However, it was worth the wait. All of us had fish and chips. Through work I have travelled to almost every major town and city in the UK and have sampled some fine fish and chips. Of course not all good. The food... More

Went here with my young son for dinner on a day off from work - was informed by plenty of people it's a must to go to in Todmorden. Well I was anxious to see if these vanilla slices and the food is exactly as good as people rave about! Well I have to say it truly is! The portions... More

What a welcome surprise on a cold spring day - warm cafe & warm staff. The traditional English fare was large, well cooked & served with a smile. We could have had a seat on the bus and chose the cafe instead. On a bright summer day we could have sat river /canal side. A unique place for any traveller... More
