We went for a meal here last night. The welcome was warm, drinks order taken as soon as we sat down. Menus arrive with the drinks. The choice of food was good there was also a specials menu. Food arrived promptly, I had deep fried Brie, very nice, the other starter was a Prawn cocktail, it was full of prawns.... More

I was disappointed last time i ate at the sheppards...the rag puddings have been made smaller(double rag puddings were too much at one time.. but now you have to order two to feel satisfied!)..and the chips were on the stingy side. I've spoken to a friend who ate there not long ago and was also disappointed in the amount of... More

I have been to The Shepherds Rest on numerous occasions and every time, I have had an amazing meal. The food is home made and delicious. Especially the rag puddings ( you get two!!!) Lovely views around the restaurant, and an outdoor play area or the children. The staff are really friendly and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Used to go to the Shepherds rest a lot when the children were young due to the excellent play facilities. The youngest is now almost 21. We called in last night on the off chance as neither of us wanted to cook. What an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was excellent and reasonable priced. The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing and... More

This is a great pub full of character, quality food and an excellent selection of drinks. We visited over the weekend and had a really enjoyable time. The food quality was excellent and the presentation matched. We would certainly recommend this pub to all as it caters for everyone.

We visited on a Saturday evening, the restaurant was full so we had to wait in the bar area. The atmosphere was nice, and everyone seemed to be enjoying them selves. When we got our table we chose off a very nice varied menu, and our food was delivered quickly with polite and professional service.the food was good portion size,... More

I was out for a drive with my mother and wife and stumbled across this place. Lovely decor, great views, attentive staff, quick service, good value and very very nice food, I can recommend the Stroganoff, Shepherd's Pie and the Balti Curry, along with fantastic home made chips.
