Best ever Confit de Canard

A splendid meal for €23 set menu - we came across this little place by chance for Sunday lunch. Like dining in someone's front room--but with a special talent in the kitchen. It's wonderfully French - very careful presentation, clearly high quality ingredients. The confit de canard in particular... read more

Having eaten so many meals out in a four week jaunt over France and Italy, Les Ecluses stands out in memory as something amazing, the memory of that food is so strong that I feel compelled to write a review three weeks after having been back. In my opinion, the restaurant has character and the food tantalisingly delicious. If you... More

This restaurant gives you a quality of food and wine that is so rarely experienced in rural restaurants in France these days. The menu was was brief but creative, drawing on the best of local produce and the wine list offered a carefully selected range of wines of the area at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere was relaxed and the... More

We stopped in Salles d'Aude and literally ran to Les Ecluses to make a reservation based on Tripadvisor reviews. We were so happy to get a reservation!! The food was excellent!!! Each of the adults had the menu at 23€ and they shared a menu meal for our 2 boys aged 8 and 10. Both options, the duck and pork... More

It's amazing how the construct this Canal Du Midi a long time ago and how the manage the ups and downs of the territory. It's an architectonic and engineering marvel.

If you are in or near Salleles d'Aude this is a restaurant not to be missed. Good atmosphere/ ambiance and excellent food. Antonia makes the perfect hostess, who if not too busy will have a chat. Her husband is the chef tucked up in the kitchen cooking some wonderful food. Our only regret, is that we didn't try this restaurant... More

A great little restaurant with quirky decor and a menu featuring local meats, poultry and vegetables. Very slow service, but what the heck... The food was worth the wait. We were a large group (10) and the meals appeared slightly staggered, but we waited patiently and were not disappointed. Wonderful lamb and duck.

The duck confit was one of the best I have tasted. Very crispy and succulent. The couple who run it are great. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Reasonable price as well. Recommended highly.

I couldn't believe it, good, even creative food in a nice spacious restaurant at a good price. The service could be a bit more speedy and attentive, but at least everyone is very friendly. Happy to have found an old friend again! 30 years ago this used to be a solid, traditional French restaurant, serving good food at reasonable prices.... More

We ate here 2 years ago and had a really delicious meal so decided to return and weren't disappointed. Opening at 8.00pm, the dining room becomes busy quickly and we saw people turned away so a reservation may be a good idea. The service is very friendly and helpful advice is given about some of the dishes on the menu.... More
