Forget San Geminiano's tourists restaurants and go to an unlisted Micheline restaurant 'Il Frantoio' in historical center of Colle Val D'Elsa. The best bread we ate in Italy, fantastic pasta with white mushrooms and pigeon with balsamic vinegar; excellent good value wine list, excellent service, knowledgeable waiter.

This ristorante is in the old part of town whcih is on the top of a hill. The ristorante is downstairs in an old cellar whcih has been magnificently restored. That is really the end of all the good information on this very average establishment. When we arrived there was only 1 other couple in the rest. It took 45... More

The food was good, especially the meat, but the waitress forgot about us and we had 40 minutes of sitting and waiting to have been accepted the order. Maybe it's a local tradition? But we did not like it. Although once remember us, the further service was good and attentive. If to forget about the clients - is a rare... More

Interesting take on baked salmon. Covered in cornflakes before baking in basil and olive oil.....worked quite well. Sliced beef on a bed of rocket was very good.ravioli first course nice and light. Attentive waitresses ..a little pricey but good quality and unique setting.

We liked the cellar type surroundings but found the food to be good but unremarkable. You shouldn't go wrong here. But nothing special either.

This restaurant, situated in the wine cellars/dungeons next to the the Duomo in Val d'Elsa was the best meal in our 12 day tour of Tuscany. We had a special Tuscan starter which was unbeleivable, containing pork in pastry and artichoke hearts - maginficent!!. It was then topped with Lobster linguine - heaven!! Thia was washed down with a white... More

This restaurant is in the ancient part of town and is located in the basement of an old cellar. You really have to make sure you do not pass it. Once, you are downstairs, you are amazed about the decoration and how beautiful it has all been restored. The waitresses are the most friendly we encountered in Italy. They make... More

The setting is memorable and the staff are pleasant and efficient. The food was a disappointment. The ravioli were dry and didn't feel as fresh as they should have been. The duck was plainly presented, rather too plainly. The cheese and wine were very good and a local beer was a welcome change from what is normally available in Italy.... More
