Absolutely wonderful in every way

This a beautiful UNESCO small town with a wonderful restaurant! For us, one of our top 5 restaurants in Tuscany, and will not break your bank! 😉 high quality ingredients, well presented, cozy ambiance and good service. We started with Pici, one tomato spicy, one pecorino and pepper which was the best Pici I have ate in 3 weeks in... More

I was staying at the associated hotel, Relais Palazzo del Capitano, and I pre-booked a four-course meal at the restaurant with my room booking. All four courses tasted great, including gnocchetti with pesto, beef braised in brunello di montalcino wine, and a molten chocolate cake for dessert. The service was a bit hectic and had moments of confusion, but overall... More

Service - perfect, food perfect, look perfect. We had tartar, salad, pasta, beef cooked the way I can't even describe. All the food was served with artistic taste and decor. Thank you.

I couldn't have come up with a better title for this review, when you are wandering the narrow alleys of a marvelous and enchanting old town and you bump into a place like this, well, the icy comes along with a whole party and a ballet. Situated in the heart of the old town in the Val d'Orcia, UNESCO heritage... More

We ate here twice for lunch in Oct '14. First time was in the nice outdoor area (rustic, casual & charming) and the 2nd time was in the indoor area which had a very authentic upmarket trattoria feel. What we liked was the place is not typical village trattoria; the pastas was creative/different and there were items such as lamp... More

During our evening walking we discovered this hidden treasure....From outside it looks very pretty and even better from inside...FIrst time we sat inside next to the wall in the corner and felt very cosy, ordered two different beef dishes...mine looked like raw sliced beef with mushroom sauce....it was good, but when we came second time to eat here...was so amazing. We sat... More

We loved the local pastas and meat dishes on Trattoria Al Vecchio Forno's menu. I was the only non-local within our group. The locals from the area favored the Wild Boar and Tuscan Steak dishes, and Tagliatelle with Wild Boar of Venison.

We found this delightful garden cafe while strolling the streets of this delightful town. Lunch was delicious and service was very good. Quiet informal garden cafe atmosphere. Perfect midday break while exploring Tuscany.
