Once again, service letting the side down. Popped in for lunch, mains where good, had beef burger and battered halloumi, no complaints! 5 minutes after finishing, table was cleared and a menu was brought for desserts. Ordered at the bar two desserts, Eton Mess and a cheesecake. Unfortunately it... read more

I have visited this establishment a number of times in the past and can be confident that I shall get good service, good pub food and an acceptable range of real Ales. The open fires are very welcoming and I felt most comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit if you have not already done so or... More

Drive up for a meal at lunch today. Thought it would be nice. Hardly anyone in yet. Ignored for 5 minutes by 3 teenage staff. One was serving to be fair. The second a ginger haired las decided to fix coffee machine instead. Third just 'didn't see us'. Waited patiently for 5 minutes by chalk board saying please wait to... More

We visited early on a Saturday and on entering were greeted by a friendly waitress who took us to our table. We had a problem with two meals, the hunters chicken was too dry and the fish and chips was way overcooked and was rock hard. However the waitress kindly replaced them and we enjoyed our mains after that. The deserts... More

Had a decent meal here one Sunday evening. Service was a little slow at first and it took a good 5 mins for anyone from the venue to acknowledge us when we arrived even though they had seen us. Apart from that it was nice and relaxed

Was a great pub but since the change of management the place has lost its atmosphere. You can be the only one standing at the bar waiting to be served by one of the 4 or 5 staff milling around and wait until the point of asking to be served The menu used to give a good selection, not so... More

I last visited here around 18 months ago and I remember the food being good. This was a very poor experience. Firstly, the decor is very good and the pub features open fires. The staff were also reasonably friendly. The food however is a bit of a disaster. For starter we had a prawn cocktail and a halloumi hash dish.... More

This place used to be one of our favourite places to eat however after today (Sunday 17th Jan 2016) it is probably the last place to go for a meal. While I might have held back if one out of the four meals was a little below standard on this occasion all were very poor. The Sunday roast were cold,... More
