Visited here today on a whim with family and friends. Not been in years and was pleasantly surprised. I'm always a little dubious of food quality in a pub chain, but we were all impressed with the choice and quality. We plumped for the three courses £18.95 option. The slow cooked beef was amazing and the desserts to die for.... More

Booked late but managed to get a table for 2pm . The pub was welcoming with open fires and a good festive atmosphere. Service took a little while but understandable as very busy on last Sunday before Christmas. Very Friendly and efficient service. Quality of food represented good value for the price paid. Our second visit recently and we would... More

We were a party of six meeting for Sunday lunch and for us it was the first time here but it will not be the last. The food was great and although it was exceedingly busy we didn't have long to wait for it to arrive. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the atmosphere was good. Very good... More

Oh dear, wish i had something positive to say about this once lovely pub. Sadly, our experience was just dreadful. The staff are clearly unhappy in their roles, this became apparent whilst attempting to order drinks from a rather disheveled barman more interested in flaunting his tacky tattoos than serving myself and my husband. The food was just dire, greasy... More

Had the coffee with a mince pie last nice and it was heaven! The coffee quality was one of the best in the area and then mince pie we had with it was a sure delight. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and with the open fire it truly made the experience a pleasant one. Will be returning again, hopefully... More

We had a two course meal here last weekend. My husband won a voucher in a golf match . We had a bottle of merlot, coffee and mints all thrown in. What a lovely experience. My husband had the fish pie and I had a savoury Eccles cake. Both delicious. We then shared the sweet platter for two. It was... More

This was a disapointment following a previous visit. Atmosphere brilliant, service excellent, but the meal was no way up to previous experience. The Rump steak was very tough, or was it due to the blunt steak knife - Either the wrong choice or the chef was very busy. Was considering booking a party for 12 persons in March 2015, but... More

Boyfriend and I were visiting Yorkshire for the weekend and I wanted to stop at Dick Hudsons for a Sunday roast on the way back to the airport. We had eaten here before and it was very good. Unfortunately on this visit the food was poor. We both ordered roast beef. I asked for it to be pink but was... More

A party of 5 of us went last night to test out the Wednesday pie night. I love the ambience of the pub - very cosy and snug on a cold winter evening. The steak n kidney pud, the beef cobbler and the beef in Merlot pies were judged to be a success. However the accompanying chips and veg were... More

Welcoming pub on the moor. Stunning views and clean and cosy pub. Nice cluster of comfy armchairs and even warm blankets supplied if you fancy sitting outside to take in the views. Food was superb. Plenty of it and lots of vegi choices . I had a savoury Eccles cake. Loads of fish and meat dishes too. Would recommend it... More
