We often lunch here and we are never disappointed, the food is freshly cooked, the menu is nice and varied and the service is excellent. This is a very popular place to visit so if you have a large group book a table in advance. We have always managed to get seated and never had to wait long for the... More

We went for Sunday lunch, services was good up until the meal, then we were forgotten, we had 3 roast beef and 1 burger, once the meals had been given, we never got asked if everything was ok, because if they would have, we wouldn't have had to take the burger back into the restaurant as it was cold, we... Very pleasant inside the pub and a large beer garden with food service to outside tables. Excellent value light bites lunch 3 courses for £9.50. The spicy Southern Fried chicken is exactly what it says ! Pear and stilton salad starter very tasty. Ice cream cream and chorizos pudding self indulgence in a big gorgeous way. Good choice of beers,... More

I've been to Dick Hudson's many times over the years and almost always had a really good experience there. It's especially lovely around Christmas time - great atmosphere. We last visited on Friday 13th June. There were 6 of us in the party and although we hadn't booked we were seated immediately and given a choice of tables. We then... More

Decided to take some friends from the USA and Scotland out for a bite to eat, Friday evening. Didn't bother booking, but ideally should have done so to avoid any waiting. Food was good, the atmosphere relaxed the only downside was the Black Sheep had run off. Service was friendly as normally received, food was top notch, our friends from... More

We are occasional regulars at Dick Hudson's, going for Sunday lunch with our elderly mothers about once a month. Always enjoy their Sunday roasts, better than a Toby Carvery, with good quality food, plenty of it, good veg, plenty of meat, tasty gravy, usually good service although occasionally slow when busy, great ambience, super puddings. One complaint: please change the... More

We ate here on Bank holiday monday. All three of us were disappointed with the food. I had fish and chips, which was rock hard at each end but soggy batter in the middle. My sons boar burger was tiny and my husbands chicken pie was limp and tasteless. However it is lovely location but I will stick to coffee... More

Very nice food and staff. The car park is a little difficult for Disabled people. We did manage but cannot pull up to the door. Went with my 98 year old Mother She can walk slowly not a problem in fine weather Doubt I would want to go if it was raining. The atmosphere & the location is nice. Yes... More

Great views if the weather is good; not so good if the cloud is low or its wet! The food is good pub food locally sourced and well cooked. It us now more an eating experience than a pub but still worth a visit.

We live nearby and call often for tea or Sunday lunch. Good food , great atmosphere and the staff are excellent . It's good if you can book but they are very accommodating even on busy periods .
