Went for lunch based on a recommendation. We were not disappointed. Two courses and drinks came to £15. The portions were very generous and I was impressed with the quality too. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this pub.

Our group enjoyed a pleasant evening in the Priory until a very rude member of security staff ruined it. At closing time we finished drinks, as requested, near the door and were informed the bar was closed and it was time to leave - fine, we informed the security guard that our friend was at the toilet. His response was... More

First visit to this place in years, approx 6pm on a Thursday. Had the special on blackboard 'chilly beef tacos' and was well impressed for just £5.95 Good quality, well cooked & well presented very promptly.

Located near the priory heritage site, the pub specialises in carvery. The staff are very kind and courtious. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are big.

We have stopped a couple of times on visits to Tynemouth and found the staff to be friendly and the food quite good but the sofas and chairs need an upgrade and the toilets are poor. It wouldn't take a lot to improve this pub enormously and a couple more veggie options would be helpful. BUT the staff were great... More

When the assistant manager came she suggest two high tables with stools... More

Loved this places previously but on our recent visits it has been almost over run with Dogs. Most certainly put me off eating here and now I won't even go for drinks. The decor is very tatty now not just shabby chic, sofas should be on the tip not in a pub and don't get me started on the ladies... More

terrible food. my husband and I ordered fish and chips fish tasted old - greasy, chips were overcooked, soggy and grey mushy peas :-( Three mouthfuls and that was all I could manage, we held on to see if they cleared our plates - they didn't - but someone (who I assume to be the manager) walked passed us several...
