not your average pub

After a morning of walking we were desperate for something to eat and drink, we popped in to the priority to get away from the freezing weather. At first we thought we had made a bad decision but we were wrong. The pub is full of character with all walks of life enjoying a drink and a good meal... read more

Dropped in here for late lunch with a friend and our 3 dogs. We were made to feel very welcome and had a great choice of seating areas we could take our pets. Pub is well maintained and clean so was happy for the dogs to lie on the floor for a change. Ordered food which was served piping hot... More

Had chicken Caesar salad and a side of chips. Very poor. Chicken was obviously on ration and deep fried so it was the same colour as the croutons and the half a dozen teeny worms of bacon looked to be cooked the same. Chips too were awful. But the service was ok and staff very pleasant

Have visited here twice recently for breakfast and on both occasions the food has been tasty and hot. Good selection of food on the plate and beautifully cooked.

We visited The priory on a Wednesday in January 2015. On reading the reviews I am completely gobsmacked! I actually thought it wasn't the pub I visited. The interior is delightful, with quirky lighting and sofas. If this place wasn't perfect enough, there are beautiful canines blissfully strolling the surroundings (they clearly loved The Priory also- nothing to do with... More

It's not just the smell or the dirt in this place. I went to use the toilets and, to my horror, someone dressed in kitchen clothes came out of a cubicle and left without washing his hands. Disgusting in any respect but completely unacceptable given his job. The place smells like a poorly kept pet shop. Avoid

I visited one Saturday afternoon with a group of friends for a quick fix lunchtime meal. It was busy but managed to get seated and went to order at the bar. A number of errors with our order was just the beginning of an unpleasant dining experience. Firstly an inappropriate sexist comment from a barman regarding asking for lime in... More
