Went here on sunday for our month sunday meal which we understood the pub would be busy, But asked if there was any tables the waitress said she could put two tables together one which was high one low tables but she needed to ask the assistant manager. When the assistant manager came she suggest two high tables with stools... More

Loved this places previously but on our recent visits it has been almost over run with Dogs. Most certainly put me off eating here and now I won't even go for drinks. The decor is very tatty now not just shabby chic, sofas should be on the tip not in a pub and don't get me started on the ladies... More

terrible food. my husband and I ordered fish and chips fish tasted old - greasy, chips were overcooked, soggy and grey mushy peas :-( Three mouthfuls and that was all I could manage, we held on to see if they cleared our plates - they didn't - but someone (who I assume to be the manager) walked passed us several... Food was horrible I have never seen chips like this they looked like potato skins cut into chips limp and greasy such a shame it used to be nice what happened. The food is not expensive but I would rather pay a bit more and get better food. Staff were friendly enough music good. But pub itself needs a good... More

We've had 2 good meals here and taken visiting family, but that was a few years ago. We visited Tynemouth today and went to The Priory for lunch. We ordered a burger and a panini, which come with salad and chips. We've never been served a salad like that - the chopped bits of lettuce were slimy and brown on... More

Went for Sunday lunch with family over the Bank Holiday. The only vegetarian option was a goats cheese tart with salad and potatoes. Nothing else on offer, even soup had bacon in it. The tart was really terrible and the salad was the worst salad I had ever had in my life. Would not return to this place, and would... More

In March my family was looking to head home from a week-end break via the coast and having a traditional Sunday lunch and when a pub at Tynemouth was recommended we opted for there. The staff at the Priory Pub & Restaurant were very helpful with booking a table and very friendly when we got there - confirming it a... More

I drink in this pub in the evening about once a week. At that time it has a great 60's atmosphere and good beer. In daylight it's not so pretty and there are a limited number of 'dining' tables, where you can sit upright away from the draughts of the outside doors. I would also wonder about the hygiene of... My wife and I took lunch at The Priory on Monday 14th April 2014. We order the fish and chips and bacon and Brie panini. After about 20 minutes I went inside to see what had happened to them and was told that there is a minimum waiting time of 20 mins and our was just being plated up. The... More

Very lively pub which is also dog friendly. Great atmosphere. We ordered some drinks and lunch. They told us that there would be about a 30 minute wait for food. It arrived in about 15 to 20 minutes. Situated in the beautiful little town of Tynemouth.
