We visited this restaurant for the first time with our family. The restaurant is comfortable with a nice informal atmosphere. Wine is available by the glass and chilled tap water is provided. Starters included Craster kippers with a poached egg ,beef carpaccio and mussels - all very good. Mains £13- £21 included roasted monkfish with spicy mussels, roast cod with... More

We went to Irvins on Friday lunchtime, expecting it to be extremely busy with Christmas Lunches, but it was relatively quiet and we enjoyed a lovely 3 course lunch, with all the trimmings. Beautifully made, very attentive and friendly service. Delicious!

The scotch egg is brilliant made with Haddock rather than sausage meat, overall a thoroughly good meal.

Spontaneous lunch today at Irvins and we are leaving full and very impressed. Modern decor, very clean from the minute you walk in it has a nice feel to it. We went for the £16 daily menu, for 3 courses that's great value all day long. The Haddock Scotch egg starter I had was delicious and the runny centre just... More

We booked a table for 5 to celebrate a family birthday, although as the restaurant was virtually empty on the Thursday evening we needn't have bothered booking. We have visited other restaurants in the vicinity but had been keen to try Irvins for a while and we were not disappointed. All of our meals were beautifully presented and tasted delicious,... More

Had two great previous visits but a week last Sunday was awful . Had to ask twice for our drinks . Very small portion of roast beef in bits , roast potatoes Luke warm & hard as if they had been left standing . So disappointing and so different to previous experiences .

Was not impressed. We booked for 12 and were the 1st ones to arrive. They took our drinks order 10 mins after sitting down. After sitting for 20 mins we noticed a woman frantically typing up the lunch menu and by the time she had finished typing and printing the menu we had been sat 35 mins. Finally after being... More

we had lunch today and what a treat. The bread was hot out of the oven and divine. As I don't like couscous asked for crushed potatoes to go with the liver, this was not a problem and when it came it was beautifully cooked, slightly pink and soft and tender and the cumin carrots were a great addition.
