We called in here on a really hot day after a long walk along the sea front, lovely to sit down in an air conditioned restaurant. Although it was busy there was very little waiting time and our meals arrived very quickly. We both ordered large cod with chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and tea, prices are very reasonable... We normally eat inside at the Waterfront and have always enjoyed our meal. However, as it was such a nice day today, we decided to order from the take away and eat outside. The chips were tasty and hot but the fish was sparse and very thickly battered. Not enjoyable and poor value.

Top quality fish and chips, staff are friendly and provide high standards of service. You are served as soon as possible,, however it can get busy which delays this slightly but that's the same anywhere! Would definitely recommend.

Travelled 15 miles to get there and really worth it. Very friendly staff, keen to help and give the very best advice. Asked for a Cod, with well done crispy batter and by gum that is what I got. Crispy tasty batter all cooked through and the fish was magnificent. My grandson had the Lemon Sole .... two lovely fillets... More

Called in here last night while on a wet walk from Tynemouth, efficient service and pleasant seating area, even though it was about 7.40pm we were not rushed, I think the restaurant stops serving at 8pm and the take away is open until 8.30pm. two of us had Senior Citizen special of Haddock, chips and mushy peas which also came... Regularly visit this restaurant simply because it serves the best fish and chips! Top quality fish always and am amazed that it never seems to feature in awards when others of lesser quality do. Try it and you will not be disappointed.

This busy fish restaurant sits on the banks of the tyne at the fish quay, north shields,so you can expect fresh caught Cod and Haddock. Almost always a queue for seats, but the wait is very worthwhile. My cod was so white and fresh with a crisp thin batter, just the way it should be. Chips, mushy peas[a northern delicacy!] tea or coffee and... More
