Recently moved to Minster. Love the sea front and the move. Looking around. I work full time and busy life. Not a planner. Found the Flying Dutchman in Queenborough. Am told recently taken over and them renovating. It has been a delight to us. Warm welcome, no booking required. Lovely carvery and also pub menu if you want. A delightful... More

We had seen local press adverts for the new Carvery here so decided on a chilly December evening to take a trip to, for us, the other side of the Island. The Flying Dutchman some 20 years ago was unique in its then owners building a Conservatory dining room and was usually packed. We ate there a number of times... More

We do not subscribe to this website it is a purely self appointed body and their star system is completely irrelevant, we do really appreciate your positive comments, honest opinions and all customer feedback we give excellent value for money and service. We have only taken over this establishment a short period of time we are still on the middle... More

The new management team have transformed the quality of the food here. It is much improved since our visit here about a year ago. An excellent menu and the addition of a great carvery at a great price. (Having a choice of ale was also very welcome.) We will be visiting here on a regular basis this winter.

I ordered the lamb shank, served with mash and veg. I received watery mash, which I could not eat, probably boil in the bag lamb shank, and tinned peas!! No idea why I did not get a selection of veg as they were running a carvery at the same time?? My husband had the steak and kidney pudding with chips... More

We have been coming here for years, however under the previous owners the quality of the food had really taken a nose dive. We have eaten here some 8 times since the new owners have been in residence and are very pleased with the food, always being given a good portion of well cooked meat to enjoy with the veggies... The new management team are making changes and improvements and it shows. The carvery is good quality and great value and makes an ideal Sunday Lunch. We have also tried the fish special on an evening. It was fresh, locally caught skate wings and was very good.

Last visit to the Flying Dutchman was in June last year and it was an utter disappointment then, no food and shutting early, well 15 months on we ventured in and what a difference, new owners, new staff and a great menu. I have had a carvery twice this weekend as it is great value for money. The new owners... More

We visited this pub on the off chance having seen the new carvery advertised in our local paper. We just wanted a quick meal on the way home. We arrived at 3pm we were politely told the kitchen had just closed, we were just about to leave, when a member of staff asked us if she could check with the... More
