Fish and chips to die for

Recommended by friends we visited to sample the renowned fish and chips. We waited about 15 minutes and were rewarded with best fish and chips we have had since the west country last year. The fish was thick and white and the batter very light. The chips were crisp and golden and for 2 for £10 we... read more

We paid £45.95 per person for Xmas dinner, well to start of we had prawn cocktail for starter and it was the worst prawn cocktail I had. The sauce was completely awful all you could taste was horseradish. The help yourself carvey was acceptable not brilliant. But paying that amount I would have expected meat on plate with vegetables served... More

The food was good but the service was a little slow. But we spent our time watching the children playing outside while we waited. The servers were friendly and very accommodating.

Arrives Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm as I had pre booked as I expected it to be busy, I booked for 4 people and a high chair for my daughter. on arriving was served by a very rude and uninterested young lady but ordered dinner and sat down. when asking where the high hair was I was told they were all... Visited withy family. Food was ok, plates weren't very hot so the food cooled very quickly. The interior could do with some redecoration as looks very tired and worn. Waited a while for our plates to be cleared, once they were there was no offer for a dessert so gave up, paid the bill and left.

This is just 400 metres from our home, A large Pub given over to mainly eating, A huge split seating area able to accommodate small or large groups. The food is well cooked and the selection from the carvery leaves you spoilt for choice, The prices are very competitive and we go on a regular basis for dinner.

We have visited a few times lately and won't be going back for the carvery. The amount of meat given has fallen to miserly proportions, and the last time we visited the cabbage was barely cooked. We had to wait ages at the bar for drinks and the dessert menu has been decimated, not good news! The fish and chips... More

The carvery meat was good, Turkey, Beef (Tough) and Pork. Yorkshire Puddings not homemade, Overcooked veg, and luke warm roast potato. tasteless gravy. Puddings good, but commercially made, so couldnt go wrong there, could they. Not an experience we will try again. Waited a long time for our main meal plates to be cleared. Many diners had left and tables... More
