I've had the pleasure of eating here three times now, for weekday lunch, Sunday roast and afternoon tea, and each time have found the service to be swift and attentive, food to be exquisite and of generous portions, and absolutely excellent value! If you couple the frankly outstanding quality of food (tender meat, delightful range of cakes for afternoon tea... More

Provides an extensive menu but unfortunately the food is only average with the emphasis placed on quantity rather than quality.

This is a lovely setting for a special Sunday lunch, very warm welcome on arrival. The restaurant accommodated a special dietary requirement for me which was really good. All our meals were very well presented and tasted lovely, it was good value and nicer than going for a pub meal as the setting and restaurant are more pleasant than the... More

I was so disappointed when we walked into this place. It looks beautiful outside and we were really looking forward to our Saturday evening meal there. It is so dated and old inside. The service was shocking and no one seemed to be 'in charge'. The food was nice albeit a little bit of a concoction rather than a well... More

Stopped off for a lunch as I know there is always great service here, staff are always so friendly. But the food...wow. We decided on a burger, nothing special... think again. It was delicious, didnt think I would ever say that about a burger! Proper home made chips, delicate, gorgeous onion rings. Whats not to like. We will be back!

This is one of our favourite places for sunday lunch. The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful. The owners are extremely pleasant and welcoming. As we go quite regularly we are always given our favourite table where we can admire the peacocks. The food is excellent and always plentiful and we are always offered extra veg but it is never... A group of us recently ate here for our office Christmas meal. The starters tasted nice but were tiny and the salad they were meant to be served with consisted of a few tired lettuce leaves. 12 of our group had traditional Christmas roast for a main, but only 2 small bowls of veg were sent out as the accompaniment,... went for a sunday lunch with a large group of friends. Very uninspiring christmas lunch that was cold, dull, and unseasoned and all had a very tepid taste on cold plates. It felt, looked and tasted like mass catered food. The waitresses were pleasant, polite and tried their best in a situation where they were running from room to room... More

We went to a wedding in October 2013. The wedding venue upstairs was lovely. The buildings and lake were beautiful. The reception buffet was held in a room downstairs with an overflow marquee which was nice. We went to collect our food and had a bun, a dessert spoon sized bit of pork, some onions and a piece of beef... More

First the whole of the hotel is situated in an old watermill, with lots of preserved industrial heritage. You can sit in the restaurant and see the wheel or look out onto the pond or river see the activity of the wildlife. The staff are most helpful (and being a wheelchair user that is always an extra!) Then the food.... More
