Description: The restaurant I Peccati born from Pisani's brothers's love for cooking...
The restaurant I Peccati born from Pisani's brothers's love for cooking and eating good, healthy, sophisticated. It was born from a passion for live and feel good at the table. The leitmotif that moves from I Peccati I always suggest is through the a la carte menu a true gastronomic journey in search and discovery of Italian flavors . The dishes are in fact combinations that bring together Italy , the Milano's cuisine to authentic flavors and colors of Murgia . The philosophy that guides the choice and the search for raw materials is to prefer the ingredients " dop " by gorgonzola of the farms Morimondo ( in the menu at the gala dinner the night of the Oscars, in Hollywood ) to Altamura bread or fungus cardoncello Murgia . These, along with the beautiful location ( a former church in 1500 ) and the atmosphere friendly and professional at the same time , the strengths that make a temple of I Peccati of the food in the heart of the old town of Altamura.

An absolute gem

I had Fave e Cicoria (beans and chicory) as a starter which is typical to the area. This was followed by Platessa con Bientole, Patate e Zucchine (plaice with chard, potatoes and zucchini). This was food for the Gods. Amazing!

Food is typical Italien, and not to expensive. We found this restaurant in the middle of the touristic centre of Altamura while wandering around. The entrance door was paved with certificates of amongst others Tripadvisor so we thought this would be more than OK. As Primi Piatti we took orichietto (ear shaped pasta) with vegetables (Spinach) or small tomatoes. That... More

This is the best meal we so far had in Italy, also beautifully presented, and honoring local ingredients and traditions.

Situated in the pedestrianized city centre this is an ideal ristorante to savour lunch whilst visiting some of the Norman cathedrals in Puglia (it is a stone’s throw from Altamura’s cathedral). Dishes are light of hand, the quality of the ingredients excellent, the cooking well above average, the wine list interesting and service is friendly and efficient (and that welcome... More

Oneof the times when the tripadvisor recommendation really worked: the place isn't at all spoiled by high ratings, the food was tremendous and the service very welcoming.

We were looking for a nice restaurant to have a light lunch before rushing to the airport and were very satisfied at I Peccati. An old church transformed into a nice cozy restaurant in the middle of the Corso. The food was not only tasty but so delicate and well presented!. The owner came to our table and was most... More

Four AARP members found our way to Peccati after buying the delicious bread and pastries that Altamura is famous for. The vino della casa was a Primitivo grown nearby and was the best we have tasted in 2 weeks of drinking Primitivo around Puglia and Basilicata. We all had different primi piatti, a bean soup, pureed fava beans with chicory... More

Attracted by the menu displayed by the door, we stepped into this amazing space, the high curved and decorated ceiling supporting a monster chandelier and a flat-screen TV. The welcome was immediate and friendly - we were told that the building used to house a church. The daily and a la carte menus both had good value regional dishes. Cooking... More

Full of locals - always a good sign. Service was charming and understated from the owner who took pride in the small but recently redecorated and restored high ceilinged former church. Food was from a fixed price menu - 14 Euros for 2 coursse, side dishes, wine, water and coffee. Orechiette with cime di rapa delicious. Local red wine quite... More
