Retains its old magic

We returned to L'Azimut after a break of a decade. It was a restaurant that always used to be on our list of places to go when in southern Brittany; I'm not sure why it fell off that list but I'm pleased to say that even in its latest incarnation it remains very good. We were found an excellent... read more

We stumbled upon L'Azimut during a walk around the local coast paths. We ordered oysters then langoustine, described as a "grande entrée/big starter" although a feast of about 30 langoustine a head arrived. Add a little sunshine and a good, chilled white wine for a memorable lunch. Excellent service that allowed two scruffy walkers to dally and still be at... More

This gastronomic restaurant didn't fulfil our expectations. The food was good but far from exceptional. On a side note we were surprised and a bit chocked by the inappropriate dress of the maître d'hôtel on the evening we visited this place. The only outstanding person was the Italian waiter who served us.

We have had the pleasure of dining in this restaurant for a number of years and it never ceases to live up to, and exceed expectations. Wonderful food, fantastic service and well worth a treat. Highly recommend the tasting menu!

In Summer you need a reservation and in Winter reserve in advance for the week end. Good wine list by bottle ot by the glass.A "mise en bouche" is offered by the house .I enjoyed the menu"Retour du marché"(Back from the market) with duck foie gras, grilled cod fish, and fig and pear pastry as a dessert. Individual butter pack on... More

During our 3 weeks in Carnac this was our best meal. We had the basic menu de jour which was not written on the menu and Madame could hardly be bothered to narrate. But all was forgiven when the food arrived. Terrific food. Fantastic value for money. Our only real disappointment was not to discover this place at the start... More

We have dined in this restaurant on a number of occasions in the past and have always been satisfied with the menu and quality of the food. Hence our return this year, The restaurant was full and I did notice, that with the exception of the proprietress, the waiting staff were very young teenagers. The meal began well with an... More

If you are a foodie, this is a must try. Approximate dinner time is 2+ hours, no fast food here! Also if you arrive before 8 and want to have a shorter dinner experience, the chances are you will. After 8 all the local patrons start to show up and the service slows down to a snail pace. The food... More

An impressively located gastronomic restaurant (great harbour views), offering good food but not a great deal of warmth. If they could only manage some sense of real welcome, this could be quite a destination. The wine list is extensive too, and not excessively pricey.
