different nights, different experience

Visited twice during a weeks stay in the area. First time was good, the fois gras was tasty as was the beef casserole dish. Staff were friendly and efficient. However, second visit was like somewhere different, very slow indifferent staff and disappointing food. Doubt we will return if in the area... read more

As I said the wine was excellent, even noted it so we could buy some to take back to England. As to the meal. We have never had such a bad meal in all the time we have visited France Since the early seventies. The food had come out of a microwave I am sure. The waiter was surly and the... More

Three ladies traveling the countryside...amazing town, amazing people, amazing country, amazing food. We had ten days of great experiences. Except for this one place...We came into a nearly empty restaurant and were excited to see other travelers with whom we had met up with in several places, and greeted them, and chatted for a few minutes. We were then seated... More

Dear madam, You wrote that you arrived in a nearly empty restaurant : October is not le high season, as you said our town is a small one and we have only 28 seats so if you came in our restaurant, it is normal that we are not fully booked at this period. I said "if you came to our... More

Limited menu and not at all pretentious or costly. Wine list of reasonably priced bottle/jugs - mostly sourced from the region. Perfectly edible food, whilst not what I would choose for any kind of treat or celebration. It seemed that when we visited two staff only were doing everything - one outdoors, one indoors. Possibly they were over stretched -... More

Having read the reviews, I wasn't that keen on eating here but, as we were staying at the hotel for 2 nights on our way back home from the Pyrenees, and we had already eaten at Fosse Saint Ange (excellent) the night before, the idea of eating outside in good weather took priority. The menu looked interesting and my starter... More

We found the food nicely presented but sadly lacking in flavour. Having said that the staff were friendly enough and the service was OK.

The young woman who took our order is not suited for a service business. (She would make a perfect bureaucrat, however.) The cuisine was just okay and certainly did not justify her rather snobbish, ignorant attitude to the diners. The young man who served our wine and meal and bussed the table was very sweet and polite. The manager was... More

pretentious menu, slow and arrogant service, and just bland and lousy food. NOT a decent bistro at all. Oh, and did i mention expensive and completely not worth it?

Called in at lunchtime, and took the lunchtime 'Petit faim' menu - a €13.50 formula. We needn't have worried if there was sufficient as we both walked away pleasantly full. We both had the terrine of white fish (light and delicate), followed by fillet mignon porc - three generous pieces of pork with a wonderful sauce, haricot beans wrapped in... More

We had an excellent entrecote and creme brulee with a bottle of Loire red. Service was very friendly. We'll definitely be going there again.
