A very undesired Japano-Italian fusion for people who lived 10+ years in Japan coming to enjoy local Italian food. We would never choose the place, but we were hungry, it was too late, and we just stayed in the same hotel. Very poor balance of spices and salt. Could finish none of the dishes, and skipped the dessert. Good service... More

Stunning local foods. Carpaccio of yellow tail and white risotto so delicious. Great wine list too. Brilliant presentation.

My friends and I had an amazing meal at Serendipico last night. We are all foodies who live in Washington, D.C. The North Carolina native pronounced the bacon crusted Yellowtail the best piece of fish she had ever eaten. Our Brit who owns a home in lucca went nuts for the porchetta which was taken beyond the traditional boundaries. The... More

From all the 25 different restaurants in the area of Tuscany was this one the most expensive and onfortunately almost the least tasty... They seem to try to bring the "nouvelle cuisine" and the (very small!!!) dishes had indeed a nice presentation, but almost all of them were absolutely tasteless !!! For example : my tartare of makerel came right... More

Dear Mr Dirk, I'm afraid you haven't appreciated our cooking and I regret that, upon arriving home, you immediately dedicated youself to write 3 reviews on our accommodation (including booking.com) where for the 90% you write about prices and how much you eat better and you spend little in trattoria to 300 mt from us. I would point out that... More

Our party of five arrived at Serendepico without a reservation and were greeted by Alexandro (the owner) who warmly welcomed us. Even a light drizzle did not dampen the fantastic dinner as we were covered by a large umbrella. The food was great, the service was great and all at a reasonable price. After dinner, Alexandro invited us indoors for... More

It was a little too chilly for outside, but the inside is lovely. Alessandro the owner took such wonderful care of us. A complimentary glass of sparking wine to start, and then such wonderful food. Some dishes of note; apps: chicken liver mousse on crispy polenta, insalata wine prosciutto and cherry vinaigrette. We also were served an amuse bouche of... More

The ambiance of the restaurant as it's set outdoors is lovely on a clear evening. Everything that we had was excellent. We did the prix fixe 5 course menu. Nice way to try a little bit of all the flavors.

We had a wonderful meal sitting outside at Serendepico. It was all absolutely delicious, and the recommended local white wine was very special! The hot chocolate dessert was a highlight.... with almond ice cream! Fine dining in rural Tuscany - such a memorable first visit!

Serendepico is what you fantasize about when you think of Tuscan dining. The owner, Alessandro, is one of the nicest and most gracious hosts that we have ever experienced. You can certainly see the passion he has for his place. The food is probably the best you will have in Italy. The chef, Damiano, is a young rising star in... More
