We went there for a drink and evening meal , staff were friendly and the food was standard pub food. The area around the nice fire was nice , but the rest of the pub was like a " canteen". Got quiet quickly at night through the weekdays.

We popped into have a beer and the ladies a coffee. The staff were friendly and service was good. The coffee was fine, but the scones and cakes didn't taste as fresh as we would have expected, but reasonably priced

I have eaten here before and the food was OK so thought I would try it again. We were met by a rather stand offish lady who took our order and we went and sat down, awaiting our food. Having been very disappionted and feeling ripped off at the Old Firestation in Tomintoul, we went into the Glen Avon and were very pleased with their offering which was not nearly so expensive, free sauce and much more bacon! Very friendly staff and a reasonable cup of tea and coffee

Needs more Scottish brews. But the crowd was fun and it was a great little taste of a country pub. The people were friendly and I'm glad that they let dogs into the bar.

The poached salmon with potatoes was very tasty, with a massive sized piece of fish for 9.50 UK pounds. Best of all, it was healthy, simply poached with a smattering of lemon butter that gave it a nice flavor without being in the least oily or heavy, a welcome change from all the deep fried and cream-based dishes often found...
