The poached salmon with potatoes was very tasty, with a massive sized piece of fish for 9.50 UK pounds. Best of all, it was healthy, simply poached with a smattering of lemon butter that gave it a nice flavor without being in the least oily or heavy, a welcome change from all the deep fried and cream-based dishes often found... We ate dinner in the hotel and we found the surroundings to be good, staff were friendly and service was good. There was a nice atmosphere in the hotel. The food choice was wide and we ordered a starter and main each. Haggis was tasty/ nachos were a plenty and the Camembert was also nice. For mains we had Cajun... More

We didn't stay in the hotel but we did stop by for an afternoon drink and returned for an evening meal. The place was busy yet that didn't effect the service! Best Mac and Cheese I have had in a long time!

We ate in the bar when staying in a hotel nearby. We had a very reasonably priced and enjoyable evening meal. We sat on big leather couches in front of an open fire. We felt like it was home from home.

We were staying nearby & went into bar to eatch the boxing on TV as our hotel did not have Sky. After smelling the food, we decided to have a meal. Plenty choice & reasonably priced. Portions huge & very very tastey. Service was great & very friendly staff. Highly recommend

We had dinner here 3 out of the 5 nights we were in Tomintoul on a ski break. The kids kept wanting to go back for more. Staff were very nice and accommodating (including a gluten-free request) and the we enjoyed watching the Sochi Olympics on the telly, playing pool and darts... nice warm fire in the winter...

Family of four. Great meal and service. Went to the Richmond hotel the evening before and the meal was awful. With only two hotels to choose from for food, I would defo recommend Glen Avon. No frills, but friendly, attentive service and food much better quality, presented and tastier than hotel across the road.
