Elegant and Unique

Very interesting decor, sort of Africanish with large carved wooden animals and contemporary flair. The foid was superb, the wait staff were very attentive and spoke English without reservation!

100% french, food a little under-cooked for UK tastes. Service good though. Nice location overlooking the bay with the waves lapping.

My husband and I fell upon this restaurant by chance. I was attracted by the funky interior so we decided to give it a go. This is on a par with Cafe Wango in St François. A chef who clearly knows his stuff and delivers beautiful plates of food to his clients. The menu was geared for all tastes. My... More

Guadeloupe may be thousands of miles from mainland Europe but, make no mistake, it is Europe. Restaurants in Deshais follow the same pattern as most European holiday resorts in that most of the eateries offer very similar menus to each other. Every now and again one stands out - and for Deshais, this is it. The menu is not large... More

When you get off a cruise ship you only expect to skim the surface of the local eating establisments (unless you have consulted Trip Advisor for every place visited) and the look of the menu and location was the draw. When we saw the experienced cruise director from the ship already in place we became optimistic and it turned out... More

What a fantastic meal here. In the heart of Deshaies, and right on the water, a great place to dine overlooking the harbor. They had a very small wine selection, but the one red Bordeaux they had was very nice. The wait staff spoke some English and was able to explain the menu to us. I had the marlin tartare... More

After reading all the good reviews on Trip Advisor we looked forward to visiting La Savane. On our first evening in Deshaies they were unfortunately fully booked (so it’s advisable to make a reservation in advance), but the next evening they had available tables. We liked it so much so we came back again for dinner another day. The first... More

We were enticed to go inside the restaurant by the interesting menu, a mix of French, Mediterranean, Creole and Asian. We were not disappointed! Nice setting right on the beach, clean fresh decor, very friendly service with waiters (and owners) who were happy to translate or explain what we couldn't understand. Starters: the marlin tartar was very nice and so... More

This is a fine dining establishment, with a well appointed interior and the sound of crashing waves coming in from the open front balcony. The food is modern, with heavy use of local ingredients.

We stopped into La Savane on a rainy Sunday afternoon and were so happy we did. The entire restaurant is covered, but open to the harbor. No tables have a bad view. The tuna spread appetizer was good, but both the wasabi and sesame kingfish plus the coconut curry crayfish were superb. We had to work to slow down and... More
