We walked in and were fortunate to get the last table on a Tuesday night. Use the online reservation form if you can plan ahead. We had a great table by the water on a totally booked night. This is a small family operation that deserves the good reviews. For English speakers, book in hand because our French is so lacking it was nice to have a server who could supplement our knowledge of the menu. We had the seared foie gras to start with a mango relish. We followed with a lovely sea bass accompanied by an... More

The restaurant is in the centre of this pretty fishing village and has good French food and friendly service. The Good. 1. At lunch, we had 2 courses and all the food was excellent and reasonable value. The remoulade with papaya and prawns was very good and we enjoyed our mains of Thai prawns and tuna with ginger and honey... More

We ate here twice during our visit. Reservations are important. Dinner starts at 7PM. Dining room is small and overhangs the harbor. It is a family operation with father cooking daughters serving and mom overseeing. Our waitress spoke excellent English. The first night my wife had dorado and I had Marlin. Both were very good, simply prepared with a nice... More

A good place for an evening meal - great staff and good food! Wine list is also good and enjoyed sampling their food. The lobster curry is excellent and would recommend it to those that like mild spice and French quality

we didn't have reservations and there was a 90 minute wait. put our names down and walked through town to see if there was anyplace else. there were a couple of places that could've seated us right away, but didn't look as tasty as La Savane. certainly glad we waited. the owner was very helpful and attentive. everything we ordered... Awesome food. Only gave four stars because we told the waitress we had a banana allergy and we were served a dish with a banana garnish. Luckily we saw it or we could have had a major Epi-pen/hospital issue.

We are here twice whilst we were in Deshaies. The first time we walked in, having fleed the awful Cafe Madras. A warm welcome, despite the fact that the place was packed. 2nd time around we booked and were rewarded with a harbourside table. The menu is short, 5+ entrees and 5+ appetisers. Between the two visits we tried 3... More

Seaside tables and fascinating art but a secondary backdrop to the thoughtfully prepared and graciously presented food. The owners' genuine concern shows in their welcoming attitude and warm friendly style. Great steak paired with luscious bordeaux satisified and the fish was best we had on this trip. Worth finding.

My family visited here around Christmas 2015. This restaurant was recommended by our B&B host. It has a great location over the small bay, with many boats moored nearby, and our table had this view. They were able to find a waitress that was able to communicate with us in English. Not a huge menu, but certainly enough variety. The... More
