The Tapas Gastrobar is really understated so may be missed by some people - the menus look basic in style, but the food is fab. Homemade croquettes, albondigas, great tortilla. The location is really lovely and the staff are very friendly.

We would recommend this TAPAS restaurant for all to try out. It was the best TAPAS we have tasted in the area, and we have been here many times.. During July we have eaten here 3 times and every time the food is excellent.. Very nice staff, very good ambiance, and nice place to sit an eat in the evening.... More

The Tapas Gastrobar in old town Altea is situated in a lovely courtyard not far from the steps which lead to the town’s hallmark blue cupolas on the hilltop cathedral. The restaurant is flanked by several other restaurants, but differentiates itself by specializing in tapas. The quality and preparation of food is outstanding, from the iberico ham and cheese combination,... More

We walked up to the square in the old Altea town and decided to eat at the Gastro bar. The food was lovely especially the steak. The service was good as well, well worth a visit.

Very pleasant ambiance. Terrace or inside dining on an intimate square in the center of Altea. Good food - certainly above average in this price range. Recommend if you visit Altea!

The food was OK but nothing more. Did not expect almost all the tapas to be served on a slice of baguette. The surroundings were really good and the place had good atmosphere.

The setting is very nice, in a nice square in the center of Altea. Oddly, there are 4 Pizzeria around it, making giving the feel to be in Naples rather than Spain. Just to be sure, they also serve Pizza. In case ... The food is decent; not fantastic, (some tapas were oversalted, some were a bit dull), but not... More

The location is idyllic in the old town of Altea. You get a very fast service and friendly waitresses. The food was really GOOD ! Everybody on our table picked 2 or 3 kinds of tapas and they where all nice served and in a good portion. For me the TIGER WOODS salad was great, with the nice sauce and... More

Situated in one of the atmospheric cobbled squares in the Old Town of Altea, this restaurant is a real find. We had been recommended by a friend and were not disappointed. The home made tapas were delicious. Especially the "croquetas" which we ended up ordering more of as they were so tasty. We were also pleasantly suprised by the bill... More
