We like to start here early with tapas then you don't have to book a table. The dishes are nice. The staff friendly. From Xef Pirata we walk to El Castell to share a pizza with salad. Then we tootle off to QVO for ice cream. Unless we have enough space left and we visit Sabors for pastries.

We simply like this place. The food is very nice. There are various dishes that we like a lot. The service is pleasant and friendly. It's not too expensive. But please do book a table.

Fortuntely, contrary to the beautiful mountain range of Bernia which no political party has avoided to let it become "a mountain of ugly constructions" those "in power" have left the old town of Altea as it was. There are many restaurants around, but for the hungry traveller who does not want to spent too much money for too few quality,... More

I have to start off by saying anyone that gave this place less than 4 stars, really has no concept of food or service in Spain. If you want your normal touristy bar that offers sub-standard food then don't come here! Yes, the place is small, and yes it was busy, but the food and service were exceptional. The staff... More

Small, cramped, noisy - great atmosphere! Very good food and attentive service. The menu is tapas-oriented and they are produced in-house with some skill

Xen was recommended to us by a friend and it didn't disappoint! We had wine and tapas and they did not disappoint! Started with scallop carpaccio with lime sorbet. It was a flavor explosion that melted in your mouth. We also enjoyed the tomato salad that had a variety of tomatoes with cheese, arugula and olives. It was one of... More

We went there first time 2 years ago,and again last year. It has become our canteen! The food is extraordinary, original, interesting association of tastes, incredible wines from Extramadura! The service is excellent, and very friendly. It's for us one of the best places where we had tapas in Spain. And we will go back soon!

Great small tapas bar, unassuming on the outside, but super food and good value for money. Slow-cooked ham and cod canneloni were the highlights for us.
