Tasty, and a bit different tapas. You get alot of food for €19. Nice to sit outside, but a bit close to passing (noisy and smelly) traffic. Will definitely go back!

Been here 4 times during the last three years. The tapas is very good, good service and good value for the money. Aprox 20 euros per person. Definetively to recommend. My favorite in Altea.

This is a totally different experience..quite funky. Absolutely superb tasting experience. A large choice of what are called Tapas in Spain....but these are GOURMET TAPAS....that have no resemblance to the traditional spanish Tapas. (..sheeps lungs, pigs kidneys etc. ) NOT AT ALL. an adventure in Gourmet dining with small very tasty Tapas....eg..raw Sea Urchin..stiirred with cream..lightly flavoured with french cheese...topped... This is the only restaurant we went to twice during our visit. We had the tasting menu the first time and a selection of other tapas the second.... The food was well presented, quite modern (not authentic but in a good way) and very tasty. Would thoroughly recommend- great value for money in our opinion.

Without doubt one of my favourite restaurants in Altea. The Tapas tasting menu is a must, pork cheek with creamy mash is out of this world! It's only a small restaurant so well worth pre booking. I have been going here for at least three years, the menu doesn't seem to change must but to be honest there is no... More

Highly recommended experience, small place on two floors, great service and fantastic food. It is quite different from the traditional spanish tapas, very creative and tasty. Highly recommend that you let the staff choose the tapas as you´ll try things you´d never think about ordering.

Having lived in Spain for several years I've had my fair share of tapas. But never have I tasted tapas like they serve here at Xef Pirata - simply fantastic. It's a rather small but cosy place, situated near Alteas beautiful church. The owner is Argentinian and very friendly and helpful - just like the rest of the staff. Food... More

Visited for the 2nd time with our family, our 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed the mini burger, we all enjoyed a selection of tapas and then a burger, next time we go we will just have more tapas rather than the burgers, which are good, but the tapas are great. You need to book

We were very early as we had the kids with us Staff very friendly ambiance super! The food is amazing we were stunned by the finesse and it's high flavor. Presentation was also an A plus. The owner is an Argentinian so only thing missing is top Argentinian wine to go with the food :)

Like the title, great tapas and friendly staff! It can be hard to get a table without a booking so if more than two call ahead.
