Good local food

I agree with one of the other travellers that Greek food, in its basic and traditional form, is tasty and good. So to earn more than a mention would mean it has to be absolutely mind blowing, which this was not. Don't get me wrong, the food is traditional and home cooked (hence the name). We had... read more

(It’s also called Euthokia) We ate here one Saturday in November. We had read some reviews and some of them almost put us off (that’s the danger of reviews; one person’s view only, but you know that). But we found the place friendly and the ‘son’ serving us a right old cheery chappie. The food was fine, trad-Greek, but the... More

This taverna is a 5 min walk from Kos harbour. There are tables inside and outside. We ate wonderful Greek food and drank half a litre of house wine, water and Greek dessert for E27. Amazing value. You may have to wait 15 mins for food as it is always busy- but does it matter when you are on holiday... More

We had dinner here three times and the food was mainly excellent as well as good value. Recommended and worth a wait as it is so busy. House wines were very drinkable. Service may be slow as it is so busy. As some of the specials are limited in number we reserved food as we could not reserve a table!

The taverna is set two streets back from the harbour and very popular with Greek families; we tried three times to get a table and only succeeded on our last day for a late lunch. I tried the kleftiko and although it was very tasty the lamb was too dry. Mrs GC had chicken in a tomato sauce and thoroughly... More

And the answer given to us was "the mousakka has just come out of the oven" So the three of us had that and a litre of wine. Very good value at €37.The mousakka needed a bit more seasoning but otherwise good. Place crowded and people being turned away. Go early if you can't make a reservation.

This little greek restaurant could be a gem, the food is very traditional greek, as my mother is greek and a fantastic cook I can say with honestly the food was pretty good for a busy little local restaurant. But!!!!!!! As I heard the mum who is head cook aged 62, shout out,"where is that lazy son". He being a... More

Ask Mummy's boy what his specials of the day are... He'll supply you a selection. Four of us ate until full with a litre of house red for 50 Euros, good food well served.

My experience of this restaurant was good,so I recommended it to my daughter and her family whilst they were there on way to patmos.........sadly,although the food was good, the service was in their words "arrogant and obnoxious".,clearly they had been very busy.it is true that however good the food,it is only part of the experience, and I fear that unless the attitude...
